Crema's Take

Lulu's pistachio latte is worth the drive—they blend actual pistachios into the drink rather than relying on syrup, creating a textured, genuinely nutty cup that regulars swear by. The intimate space radiates authentic warmth, from the Palestinian flag proudly displayed to staff touches like honey spoons served with hot water, and a hidden garden patio out back that feels like a secret garden escape in DC. Come hungry for their fatayer and other light pastries, and plan to linger; this is a cafe that rewards slow afternoons and repeat visits.

What to expect

Specialty coffee, with creative signature drinks. A slow-sit, outdoor seating spot, good for meetings. Pastries and light food on the menu.

Super cozy, reasonably priced cafe. Seating is limited, but I went on a Sunday afternoon and it was not very busy. They have an adorable garden patio area out back with additional seating also. Would recommend trying the beef fattayer, delicious!

Finally got a chance to make it to Lulu's and as my five star review indicates it delivered on everything. The artwork and tucked away outdoor back patio were nice surprises, especially considering the location of being right downtown. Didn't feel like it at all.
