Cafe Dolce Albany
227 Quail St, Albany, NY
Crema's Take
“Cafe Dolce is a warmly run neighborhood gem where the owner's genuine care shines through in every interaction, making you feel genuinely welcomed whether you're settling in for hours of work or a quick pastry run. The rustic, college-hangout vibe pairs perfectly with their distinctive offerings like Somali tea and halal-friendly baked goods, all priced reasonably and made with real attention to detail—think custom cream cheese frosting that shows the owner actually listens to what you want. It's the kind of place that feels like a second home, cozy and comforting, where you can linger as long as you need without feeling rushed.”

Very nice owner and you can tell he’s working hard to keep things going. The atmosphere feels rustic and definitely gives off a college student hangout vibe. That said, the place was freezing cold and very smoky inside — it didn’t seem like there was proper ventilation from the kitchen, which made it a little uncomfortable to sit and dine. The food was good once we got it, but it did take some time since the cook appeared to be there alone. With a little attention to ventilation and temperature, this spot could be much more enjoyable. Wishing them the best.
This is such a great place to relax and hang out! The atmosphere is cozy and warm, the owner is amazing, and the food and drink are not only delicious but also reasonably priced — plus, everything is halal! The place is spotless and well-kept. I highly recommend trying the Somali tea with the coffee cake. 10/10!!!
The kindest owner everrr!! Super helpful and the dessert was delicious! He made us cream cheese frosting to go with the coffee cake. We also had Somali tea which was also so delicious! Everything is halal. It’s such a cozy and inviting cafe. When I walked in it felt like a warm hug honestly. I could not recommend it more. Amazingggggg!
Everything is halal, the baked goods and Somali tea were great. The owner is super friendly and went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. The prices are good and the atmosphere is comforting 10/10
