Crema's Take

Wolff's Apple House is a charming farmstand and nursery hybrid that locals keep returning to for their exceptional seasonal produce, particularly those hard-to-find Evercrisp apples and an impressive selection of specialty pumpkins and gourds. The outdoor space blooms with carefully curated seasonal displays, fresh baked goods, and homemade items that make it feel like a proper destination rather than a quick errand run. Whether you're hunting for farm-fresh fruits and vegetables, picking up their famous apple cider, or browsing the flowering plants, this is the kind of place that reveals itself as a genuine gem once you finally make the trip.

The number of times I was just a few minutes away from Wolff's Apple House before I finally visited is maddening. The outdoor nursery space is consistently beautifully displayed with the seasonal items. Inside find everything from beautiful fresh fruits & vegetables. Quality packed items. Fun seasonal gift ideas for home and garden. The houseplant area is robust and offers a fun selection. Move into the bakery cafe space and find an array of store made items az well as curated items from specialty makers like a local Gluten Free baker, Taluto's Italian Food items and more.

I've been to Wolff's several times this year, almost always to buy their Evercrisp apples. Evercrisps are a variety developed as a cross between two of my favorites: Honeycrisp (which are notoriously expensive) and Fuji. Wolff's Evercrisps are from PA orchards not terribly far away, and in my experience were sweet, crisp, juicy and long lasting in the fridge. Really a treat if you like fresh apples. I would recommend them without reservation. But don't forget they have may other things on offer from fresh vegetables to baked goods. There were even these clever candled that look like pies. Very cool!

We have enjoyed shopping at Wolff's for many years, enjoying their farm fresh fruits and vegetable (local in season), apples and apple cider, flowers and vegetables for planting, baked items, homemade soups and salsas, heritage pumpkins to make pumpkin puree, and our Thanksgiving turkey each year. This year's turkey, from Loags Corner Turkey Farm, was the best we have ever tasted! The staff at Wolff's is exceptionally welcoming and helpful, doing everything they can to make the visit successful. Wolff's Apple House is a very special place and we are fortunate that they are nearby.

What a gem! Lovely farmers market and nursery. If you can’t find your ideal pumpkin here, you won’t find it. All the traditional pumpkins and gourds as well as plenty of specialty pumpkin varieties. The store has some frozen food like pizza and ravioli as well as breads, bakery items, snacks, and plenty of fresh beautiful produce. Well worth the visit.

I used to stop here often when I worked in the area. It was always expensive but products were generally good. Stopped in this weekend & was looking forward to shopping. There have been changes. Prices are ludicrous. $1.29 per ear of Lancaster corn? 🙄 So far, the melon I bought was disgusting mush inside. The $11 tiny cherry pie was mostly crumb topping - very little cherry filling. The apple bread was old & stale. The top separated from the rest & the whole thing turned to crumbs when I tried to slice it. Tally for this awfulness thus far is $23. So disappointing. Too far to go back, otherwise, I’d be asking for a refund. Oh, & a hanging houseplant I bought a few years ago looked beautiful but was shortly covered in an infestation of mealy bugs so quarantine any plants you buy.
