Better Days Cafe
3551 SE Division St, Portland, OR
Crema's Take
“Better Days Cafe on Division is a bright, plant-filled sanctuary with gorgeous natural light and thoughtful decor that's equally suited for deep focus or lingering with friends, though fair warning that the work seating can be hit-or-miss. Beyond their reliable traditional drinks, they're worth visiting for unexpected delights like matcha bagels and mochi donuts, plus creative customizations like their Chamomile Tea lattes that show the baristas are genuinely playful with their craft. The spacious, welcoming vibe and excellent public transit access make it feel like the kind of neighborhood gem that keeps Portland weird and wonderful in the best way.”

Pretty good ! Loved the matcha bagel is pretty basic.
I’ve been looking for a spacious and easy to reach cafe on the east side of Portland via public transportation for some time now, and I think I’ve found the unicorn of cafes that serve the tastiest non chain restaurant bagel and lox I’ve ever had in Portland. Generous portions of lox and chive cream cheese on a toasted bagel is a perfect companion to my iced mocha in the morning. A spacious and airy interior that feels like Steve Jobs himself would have approved of, if Apple decided to open up a chain of Apple cafes!
Nice location on division, very open space. After coming a few more times, it’s not for me; doesn’t have very comfortable seating for working, and the drinks are mostly good if you want something sweet. Since it leans Vietnamese and darker roasted coffee, you’ll get something pretty bitter otherwise.
Amazing ambiance, love the music, such a gorgeous gorgeous space with lots of space and light. The decor with the paper lights and plants is chef’s kiss. One of my new favorite work/study spaces. Drinks are delicious, my favorites are the coconut cream matcha and the brown sugar cinnamon with tiramisu :)
I would give them 4 stars for not having decaf but their mochi donuts were awesome and they made me a Chamomile Tea latte. My wife enjoyed the coffee. The space is super cool and it's nice to see something vibrant take that corner space off Division. Had a lot of people inside, big windows, and a bunch of places to sit. They just opened so excited to see how they develop in the neighborhood. Much needed coffee option over here!
