Smoking Tiger Coffee & Bread

4600 Beach Blvd D, Artesia, CA

Crema's Take

Smoking Tiger Coffee & Bread is an espresso-focused spot that takes their craft seriously, whether you're ordering a signature creative drink like their banana latte or settling in with a pour over—though consistency seems to be a work in progress based on recent feedback. Beyond the coffee, they've carved out a distinctive identity with inventive pastries and breads like creative scones, cookies with unexpected flavors, and a notably indulgent chubby cheesecake that keeps locals coming back. The vibe leans toward a peaceful, laptop-friendly workspace where you can sink in for a slow sit, and the Artesia location apparently has the most extensive selection of merch and baked goods across their other branches.

Ordered a decaf iced latte this morning around 8am. The extraction felt overly concentrated and left my throat uncomfortably dry. It’s now close to 4pm, and I’m still experiencing noticeable dryness, which hasn’t happened to me at other cafés. It may be worth reviewing the bean quality or preparation consistency.

Oct 2025 I've visited this location a few times, usually in the middle of a northern CA - southern CA road trip. Fun breads and snacks. Creative scones and cookies flavors and yummy chubby cheesecake. Signage is easy to read. Super friendly staff. There's a quiet seating area inside and a fun patio seating area outside. Will definitely visit again.

Delicious coffee. At 1st I was skeptical about this place due to its location, however, I took a change on it and I did not regret it. It was a great coffee. I got the bannana latte iced 16oz. It was great! I'll definitely be back

Stopped here after a dental appointment right next door. Seemed to be buzzing with silence despite numerous people working with laptops and headphones on. I was in a state of disappointment from the previous night's cheesecake offering at a different restaurant. I find myself searching for a "revenge" or "do-over" from that experience. Happy to report the jiggly cheesecake here delivered on expectations: soft and not too heavy , with a nicely burnt top ala Basque style. Also got a honey cinnamon scone, A "pop tart" - a flattened crisp croissant topped with frosting and thin smear of jelly, And slice of banana bread to snack upon. Same name bakery located close to home which I should try sometime. Courteous and friendly "barista" made my peach fizz with less puree since I wanted less sweetness. Will be back to try other coffee with more pastries.

My fave spot! It has the most bread, merch and goodies out of all the other locations. Love the vibe and service. Didn't even know this place was here and it seems to be an OG based on the history of the area and the way the building looks. Tasty matcha and amazing coffee! Wish they still had some scones but I got there later in the day will def come back here, it's worth the drive!
