Crema's Take
“Mémoire Cà Phê is a cozy neighborhood gem on NE Alberta that brings Vietnamese-American creativity to Portland's breakfast scene, with standout items like their fish sauce bacon and inventive breakfast burritos that pack serious flavor—just come prepared for bold spice. The intimate space and genuinely attentive service make it a perfect spot for a leisurely morning, though the compact setting means it's better suited for lingering conversations than quick bites.”

Food: 4/10 Service: 9/10 Atmo: 6/10 Overall: 5/10 Spice warning ⚠️ it was a Lot spicier than I expected, especially for breakfast. I thought the fish sauce bacon was tasty, but it wasn't "American bacon" but thin pork belly (I understand it's the same cut/area)--it was the best thing. The biscuits were just OK, a little dry. Gravy was good with lots of flavor. The hash browns were inedible: stale, chewy, not crispy. Neither of us ate ours. Given we couldn't eat a third of our meals is the reason for the low score. Service: 9/10 only interaction was ordering at the counter. He was very professional. I would have appreciated someone checking in or noticing that we couldn't eat the browns. Atmo: very small space & crowded
I visited Portland for the weekend and I’m so glad I stopped by Mémoire Cà Phê on NE Alberta St! The vibe is super cozy and the menu is such a creative take on Vietnamese-American brunch. We ordered the Matcha Waffle with Fried Catfish and the Chia Pudding, and both were incredible. The flavors were unique and perfectly executed. It's definitely a standout spot in the Alberta Arts District—I’ll be back for sure next time I'm in the area!
Cute little spot on Alberta to have breakfast/brunch. I read some of the other reviews ahead of time so I knew that the space would be smaller, but it was actually really nice to be an intimate setting like that. The staff was very kind too. We got the Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk, ube donut, and the breakfast bowl with fish gravy bacon. The coffee was a little strong for me I wished it was a tad sweeter. The donut was amazing! I loved how chewy it was and had such a strong Ube flavor. The bowl was delicious. My mom and I were a bit sensitive to the smell but when we got past that it was great. The crispy garlic and the thick bacon were standouts for me.
Incredible, one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had!! My wife's shrimp and egg dish was amazing as well. Definitely get both the chili oil and their ginger sauce on the side. The ginger sauce was out of this world. Couldn't recommend this place enough. Oh and the coffee was damn good as well.
Hands down one of the best breakfast burrito I’ve ever had! I ordered the burrito with steak sausage, and the crunchy hash browns inside took it to another level of absolute perfection. Every bite was packed with flavor. The peaches and crème matcha was the cherry on top of an already bomb breakfast. The cinnamon roll was delicious too! I loved everything about this place and can’t wait to come back!
