Good Friend Coffee
874 N Virgil Ave, Los Angeles, CA
Crema's Take
“This neighborhood gem has earned its reputation as a genuine community hub where everyone—solo coffee drinkers, dog owners, families with toddlers—feels equally at home. Beyond their reliably excellent coffee and thoughtfully crafted specialty drinks like their beloved mango sticky rice matcha, it's the warm, unpretentious vibe and genuinely friendly staff that keeps people coming back multiple times a week. With exposed brick aesthetics, plenty of space to linger, and creative seasonal offerings, Good Friend feels less like a trendy coffee spot and more like the kind of place that becomes part of your neighborhood routine.”

I genuinely love this place so much. I started going ever since they did their tiny pop up. I love their community, their sweet matcha, and open space. I feel so comfortable walking in every single time. I appreciate their service and positive attitude. I go in to do some laptop work, reading, and drawing. Great to catch up with friends. 10/10 - quality, consistency, and cleanliness. 👍🏽
Love Good Friend! I’m so lucky to have it as my neighborhood coffee spot. I can walk my dog over, walk my toddler over, or just swing by solo and feel equally welcome. The coffee is very good and it’s consistent. You always know what you’re going to get. They also have decaf espresso drinks for those later coffee orders. Most notably, I’ve found everyone who works there to be so kind in a genuine way that never feels put on. In terms of ambiance, I’d say that when I go there with an especially chatty friend, I feel slightly loud because most people in the cafe seem to be working, reading, etc- but I don’t feel like it’s a big deal either. Point is- great spot to get some work or reading done too!
With a name like Good Friend it's perfect that the staff/owners are so friendly. The atmosphere is casual and exposed. I drink decaf and their method is to pre-press the espresso and chill it so when I come it the drink takes less than a minute to make. Hard to find decent decaf espresso, while their's isn't the best I've had, it's very drinkable :)
Only been in LA for 2 days and have gone here 3 times. Really like the mango sticky rice matcha and the strawberry limeade! I am not a fan of peanut butter but I even really enjoyed the PBJ latte. Cool staff and cool crowd of people inside. Sometimes has a line out of door but it moves quickly. Limited seating options though.
Immediately upon arrival, I was captivated by the delightful atmosphere and aesthetic of this establishment. Its unique character truly enticed me to enter. I was hoping to purchase a refreshing beverage, and I was successful! I ordered the Cherry Limeade. It was exceptionally fresh and delicious, receiving a perfect 10/10 rating from me! It even included a cherry and dried fruit, which was a lovely touch. I definitely plan to try their coffee on my next visit.
