Crema's Take

This roastery pulls off the tricky balance of being both a quick caffeine pit stop and a genuine hangout spot where you can settle in with a book or laptop for hours. The on-site roasting means your espresso or pour-over arrives genuinely fresh, and the counter staff clearly take pride in what they're serving—though consistency seems to vary depending on who's behind the machine. It's the kind of neighborhood gem where regulars keep returning for the approachable vibe and solid coffee, even if the kitchen's execution on food doesn't quite match the care they put into the cup.

Perfect spot for counter service coffee and breakfast/lunch sandwiches made to order with a great staff that cares about what they serve. And good spot to read the paper or laptop work. (Not the best for a formal video meeting though.)

Service with a Smile.... I really enjoyed this place in Newburyport. The coffee is roasted on site and very fresh and you can't beat the service. Big smile, Big good morning.... Oh, and it passed the clean bathroom test. Awesome place to rip through some emails and enjoy a very good coffee. The staff really makes it a good place to go.

I've been coming here for a few years now. I come to Newburyport about 6x a year from the west coast. The service used to be friendly and casual. Now it feels like the baristas are annoyed people are even there. Almost zero friendly interaction. As someone who has been in the coffee business for years, how you make people feel is an important as the quality of the coffee. I can train anyone how to make a drink or grind coffee. I can't train a good personality. That comes down to hiring. Also, the espresso isn't as good as it used to be. It used to be rich, strong, and intense. Now it's more like triple strength coffee. It's nice to have a place I can walk to, but I may look for other options.

The coffee was really good. No complaints there. The food on the other hand was pretty bad. We got a breakfast sandwich and a scone. The sandwich was incredibly dry and bland but at least edible. The slice of cheese was somehow still cold though The scone was much worse though - it was so under baked that there was wet, raw dough in the middle. Couldn't even finish it. Recommend the coffee - skip the food

The taste of latte was very nice hut there was no art, which should be there! Plus, the cap was very loose so when I started to drink, some of the coffee dropped on my coat. Atmosphere was good. Nice flowers and pictures.
