Crema's Take
“Tepito Coffee is a vibrant community hub in Pasadena that goes beyond coffee—they host local events like vintage car clubs and celebrate their roots with signature drinks like the Adelita Latte and Cafe de Olla. The outdoor seating and welcoming atmosphere make it perfect for lingering over work or connecting with friends, though service can be inconsistent during slower periods. There's a real sense of cultural pride and neighborhood connection here that keeps people coming back.”

Went today for a community event they had with local vintage car clubs. Such a good time - really cool cars, great oldies music, & lots of folks out enjoying the sunshine. We got the Adelita Latte & Jamaica lemonade. Both were great - the mixed lemonade was just the right amount of sweetness for me. Also got a butter croissant which was flaky & rich. Great to see their pastries are baked by Homeboy Industries. Definitely coming back.
I love Tepito! I ordered the Adelita Latte with Coconut Milk and it hit the spot. It’s a great coffee shop to work from or meet up with a friend. Definitely worth checking out!
Today I tried Tepito coffee for the first, and probably the last time. I ordered an Iced latte with coconut milk (+$1) and waited 17 minutes for it!! They weren't very busy...only a few people were waiting for their orders ahead of me. And the coffee was just...okay, tasted more like coconut milk than coffee, to be more specific (reminded me of Starbucks). Didn’t worth $7.66 at all!
I originally wanted to go to the bar in Vroman’s Bookstore, but it had an age restriction. So, my daughter and I decided to check this place out. At first, I was hesitant, but I thought we give it a go. I’m glad we did! I got an Iced Adelina Latte and my daughter had an iced hot chocolate. I could taste the cinnamon and other subtle spices in my drink, and my daughter was pleased with hers. I was surprised it was on the expensive side. But, unlike at other coffee shops like Starbucks, the cup size was big for regular. Update: Our second visit was a little disappointing. My daughter and I ordered the same things. Only this time, we ordered them hot. Mine tasted okay, but my daughter told me her hot chocolate tasted too much like milk. So, I guess the ratio of cocoa powder to milk was not well-proportioned. It seems like the taste of beverages vary depending on who makes them. This is not good in my book.
Finally made it here...and was not disappointed. Thank you for supporting the kind of community I grew up with. Continue doing what you all do. Cafe de Olla and Horchata iced latte was amazing. Can't wait to go back.
