Crema's Take
“This cha chaan teng-style café brings Hong Kong energy to Brooklyn with generous portions of delicious comfort food at reasonable prices, earning passionate fans who praise its authentic approach to traditional drinks and matcha tea. Staff enthusiasm runs high here—expect attentive service and someone constantly refilling water and tidying up—making it equally welcoming whether you're grabbing a quick bite or settling in for a leisurely meeting with friends and family. The vibe works best for those seeking a casual, unpretentious spot where pastries and light fare pair perfectly with specialty beverages, though consistency with service can vary between visits.”

Service was very attentive and friendly. Didn't have to wait long to get food or flag anyone down. The staff was always walking around and looking at tables, cleaning up and refilling water without asking. It's pretty good HK comfort food, no complaints here. The prices are lower than other Chinese restaurants on 86st so it's reasonable I'd say.
The food was really bad and lacked flavor. The service was unimpressive, and the prices were unreasonably high compared to other places. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant.
I see a lot of reviews about poor service, but I stopped by this new cha chaan teng just a week after they opened, and overall it was a really solid experience especially if you’re craving quick, tasty Hong Kong–style comfort food. The food was the highlight. Everything came out hot and flavorful, exactly the kind of no-nonsense HK cafe dishes you want. The HK milk tea was especially impressive — strong, silky, and authentically brewed, not the watered-down version some places serve. For a spot this new, they already have the flavors dialed in. The service wasn’t the tightest ship with a few delays and a bit of confusion with other table's orders, not mine, but it felt more like the growing pains of a brand new restaurant with two floors than anything else. The staff were friendly and clearly trying their best while finding their rhythm. The decor surprised me in the best way. Clean, modern, and thoughtfully designed, but still very reminiscent of the Hong Kong cafe aesthetic. Overall, this place has a lot of potential. With some time to smooth out the service, it could easily become a go-to spot for quick, authentic HK-style eats. I’ll definitely be back.
Overall the food is delicious and portions are generous. Prices are very reasonable too. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Highly recommend everyone come and try — must visit if you like Hong Kong–style café food! 🇭🇰🍽️
I have dined at the Legend Cafe on New Utrecht Ave and decided to try this new location this weekend. The foods were decent. But service really needed to greatly improve. It was fine for the first few minutes after we were seated. Menus and water were promptly provided. But we had to flag down a waitress to order. During the first round of food, my soup was delivered without a spoon. I noticed immediately when the waitress placed the soup on the table. I asked for a spoon but she had already quickly turned around and hurried back towards the kitchen area and never heard my request. After a few minutes, I asked the male manager instead. When the second round of food arrived, we asked her for knives since we anticipated needing them for the 3rd round. The waitress returned a few minutes later with our 3rd round of food without knives. We asked again. All throughout our meal, we wondered how many trips the waitress had to make because she kept forgetting to provide utensils. The restaurant should consider having extra utensils at every table.
