Crema's Take
“Miski Bakery is a warm neighborhood spot on Addison where the pastries are genuinely exceptional—reviewers rave about their cinnamon rolls, cupcakes, and especially their empanadas, which are so good people order frozen boxes to take home. The team, including standout staff members Carmen and Mario, treats every customer like family, whether you're grabbing a quick coffee or planning an office catering, creating the kind of place where you keep coming back.”

I ordered a costume made cake, and I’m honestly very disappointed considering all the positive reviews. I want to begin with every time I called Miski a man answered with “ yo” .. very unprofessional to begin with. I called 3x and every time I called, each time I had to ask if this was “MISKI” because how are you going to answer with “yo”. First you make me question if I called the correct place because each time I called I had to ask “is this Miski” because of the way this person would answer. Whoever this is need to do a better job managing things behind close doors. Next, when I tried to call Miski 3x to see if they got my cake order and if they could do it, I got a confirmation less than 24 hours prior. Mind you I emailed Miski 2 weeks before. When I picked up my cake it just felt like whoever decorated my cake was in a rush and plastered all this cut out designs. All of my guest agreed this was NOT WORTH $100 . And they all agreed that whoever decorated my cake just did it in a rush and added decoration. I am very unsatisfied because if I could have communicated with Carmen herself who is suppose to be the cake decorated I would have been more satisfied if I could have executed my vision but every time I called I had a very unprofessional guy. I also was told I would get a refund and the person who answered had ghost me and did not reply. First they said “return the cake” then they rambled about how quality of work does matter. Well if it matter then whey didn’t you do things right the first time? I hate to write a negative review considering I had high hopes. However; the cake looked cheap and don’t to its standard. This is not what I wanted or what I was Envisions. . I’m not angry I’m dissatisfied and disappointed . I
I ordered lunch for my office and had an A+ experience. The Miski Team took time to walk me through different catering options and helped me select the right order based on the number of people in my office. The empanadas (beef, chicken, and cheese + potato) were delicious - perfectly crisp on the outside with a tender interior. Great ratio with what was clearly fresh and quality ingredients! Dessert, specifically the alfajores and macarons, were absolutely incredible. The office is already asking when we can cater Miski again!
This place has the best cupcakes l've ever had in my life. The cookies are unreal too and everyone who works there is incredibly friendly - Carmen and Mario are awesome. I just discovered Miski and am looking forward to trying more of their yummy food. I have yet to try the coffee but have heard the Horchata Latte is to die for. Definitely recommend.
I go to this bakery all of the time. The food is amazing. I honestly can’t get enough of their empanadas, and one time i just asked for boxes of them frozen for my house to re heat. The people who work there are always so incredible, I think they’re a family run business and everyone in the family helps out with the shop. Anytime I am in that area I make sure I carve out enough time to swing by and go get some treats. They just came out with a blueberry scone with lemon glaze which is unreal. Here’s a photo on one of the empanadas and a carrot cake cupcake
On my quest to find the best cinnamon rolls in Chicago I went to Miski Bakery on Addison. I had planned on a different spot to try, but then I saw a Miski Bakery post on Instagram with their fresh cinnamon rolls and I couldn't resist!! I stopped in to get two cinnamon rolls one to re-heat in the oven and one to try as is. I was delighted to find the non re-heated cinnamon roll was perfect, such a beautiful blend of cinnamon, and glaze, just gooey enough to be the perfect texture, yet fluffy to not be overpowering. Their Blueberry muffins also caught my eye, and they were fantastic. I really appreciated their perfect amount of blueberries, an amount that would make Robert Deniro happy in Casino. I can't wait to go back for their breakfast poptart varieties, and more than likely a cupcake or two!!
