Mosaic Locale
1131 State St, Santa Barbara, CA
Crema's Take
“Mosaic Locale is a relaxed, multi-purpose spot in Santa Barbara where you can linger over coffee and waffles in a charming shared courtyard space, with the bonus of alcohol service if you want to extend your visit into the evening. The vegan-friendly menu and ample seating make it genuinely welcoming for long stays, whether you're tucked away in the back garden or catching the street energy from the front. It's the kind of place that rewards a slower pace and seems to shine brightest when you settle in rather than rush through.”

This was a horrid meal. Please do not waste money here. I got a “melt” and it came out looking like a carls junior breakfast sandwich. The only difference is that maybe I could make it halfway through a carls junior sandwich. The eggs were powdered and wet. The burrito and melt gave us the egg ick. Drinks were also not worth the price in the slightest. Can’t believe they are still in business!
Felt pretty cut throat. Got a tiny tiny shot of a drink for $4.25 macchiato. Gone in one gulp. The guys at the counter were unpleasant and reluctant to give good customer service. Feedback for the owner to train these folks to be pleasant and friendly to customers.
2:45pm on a Sunday. Made eye contact with multiple staff who instead preferred to dance behind the counter instead of offer service. Was an awkward two minutes. Lady in front of me was waiting as well and gave up. The employees here could care less about service.
I felt like I needed to review because I couldn’t find any reviews about vegan or dairy free options, nor could I find any menu online. So YES! They have vegan options, including the waffles!! But they do stop serving the waffles at 5PM. So I will have to be back tomorrow. Thoroughly enjoying my iced blueberry matcha oat latte tonight though. ETA: I went back for the waffle. It was heaven.
Shared space serving coffee, waffles, and alcohol. Great service and ample seating whether you want to relax by the back courtyard area or people watch by the main state entrance.
