Crema's Take

This Little Italy gem serves up some of San Diego's best Italian sandwiches with genuine care, from the barista working the window to the thoughtful staff behind the counter. Each sandwich is lovingly crafted with quality ingredients—think spicy Sicilianos, creamy Parma Specials with prosciutto, and egg with porchetta and pesto—hitting that perfect balance of flavor and restraint. It's the kind of warm, family-friendly spot where you can grab an exceptional bite quickly or linger over espresso, made by people who clearly take pride in what they're making.

Great spot. I had the Siciliano, which was loaded with spicy meats and packed with flavor. Perfect amount of heat without being overpowering. My wife got the Parma Special with prosciutto, super creamy cheese, and arugula. Simple but insanely delicious. The schiacciata bread is crispy on the outside, soft and airy on the inside. So good. Everything tasted fresh, high quality, and made with care. You can tell they don’t cut corners. We’ll definitely be back to try more on the menu. If you’re craving a legit Italian sandwich, this place is a must.

Extremely friendly service, from the barista working his magic in the front window, to the gentleman behind the counter taking our order. Pictured is the egg and porchetta with pesto. It was very delicious. Also $9 is pretty reasonable. Their selection of grab and go sodas, pasta salads, desserts, and chips would make this spot ideal for all sorts of flavor combinations. We sat inside, and the relaxed, cafe feel forced us to linger a little longer. As we were leaving, somebody took a Sicilian pepperoni pizza out of the oven to rest until the lunch rush. I envy anyone who sank their teeth into a slice of that.

First trying out this semi new(ish) Italian sandwich place in Little Italy. The food was phenomenal and well priced and the service was kind and quick. Lots of great options here, need to come back and try more!

Wow, what a place. So glad they open this new restaurant in the area. These are by far the best Italian sandwiches in San Diego. Their original ingredients, attention to detail on each sandwich and their special ‘schiacciata’ bread are beyond amazing. Highly recommended. We’ll be back many times and again for these special sandwiches.

My Italian friend swears by these mouthwatering sandwiches so obviously I had to go try them. The newly opened Prendi E Vai located in Little Italy is a true gem. What makes their sandwiches stand out is the fresh baked schiacciata bread that’s crispy yet soft and airy on the inside. They only use high quality Italian meats, fresh cheeses, along with homemade spreads. Their menu has 13 schiacciata sandwiches with different meats like mortadella, prosciutto, porchetta and salami. Plus my favorite sandwiches have their creamy truffle cream and homemade pesto. If Italian sandwiches are not your thing, they also have regular sub sandwiches too. 🥪 Truffle parma: Prosciutto di Parma, burrata, sun-dried tomato, arugula, truffle cream 🥪 Guava cotto: Prosciutto Cotto, goat cheese, guava spread, arugula, EVOO 🥪 Di Carlo: Pesto di pistachio, mortadella di pistachio, stracciatella, crushed pistachio
