Crema's Take

Cafecito is a beloved Arlington gem that serves up authentic Mexican brunch alongside expertly crafted specialty coffee, with an atmosphere so welcoming and unhurried that it feels like a gathering place for the neighborhood rather than just a café. The avocado toast, breakfast sandwiches, and steak options are as thoughtfully prepared as the drinks, and the staff's genuine warmth—paired with a curated music playlist and shaded outdoor seating—makes it the kind of spot where lingering over a meal becomes the whole point. If you're seeking a local treasure in the DC area that clearly prioritizes both hospitality and quality, this is exactly it.

Best cafecito in town. Avocado toast with egg is great and breakfast sandwich too. Music playlist on point. Great experience overall. Don't come in a hurry, if so, order in advaced.

If you’re around DC and want a legit Mexican brunch, check out Cafecito in Arlington - about 15 minutes from Dupont Circle. Total hidden gem. Everything looked beautiful, tasted amazing, and the service was great. We lucked out with the day specials: chilaquiles and tamales. Both were bold, intense, and truly authentic — the kind of flavors you don’t find just anywhere. Warm vibe, amazing food, excellent service, absolutely worth the short trip from DC. We’ll be back.

Really glad we stopped in. It’s always great to find a small local spot that clearly cares about both food and hospitality. Service was warm, welcoming, and attentive, and the space has an easy neighborhood café feel. The menu is Latin-inspired, with chilaquiles offered on weekends. They typically serve both red and green, though only green was available during our visit. I usually prefer red, but these were excellent. Bright, balanced flavors and chips that held their texture well. I ordered mine with eggs over medium and avocado, and appreciated the variety of protein options. The chorizo breakfast burrito was another standout and one of the better breakfast burritos we’ve had in the DMV. Simple, high-quality ingredients executed well. The house-made aguas frescas are worth trying. The jamaica was refreshing and nicely balanced. I also tried the café horchata latte. I expected more cinnamon-horchata flavor, but it was still a solid latte. Seating is limited, with only a few indoor tables and some bar seating, though patio seating appears available in warmer months. Overall, a spot we’ll happily return to, especially for weekend brunch

An absolute gem—if I could give more than 5 stars, I would! I cannot say enough good things about cafecito From the moment you walk in, it is clear that this place is special. The ownership is truly amazing; you can tell they pour their heart and soul into the business, and it shows in every detail. That passion extends to the entire team. The employees are welcoming, professional, and attentive. As for the menu, the coffee is top-tier and the food was absolutely delicious. It is rare to find a spot where the service, atmosphere, and quality of goods are all perfect. Highly recommended!

Lunch at Cafecito was perfect - the café is cozy, there's a shaded outside seating, staff was welcoming and friendly. We had a delicious salmon&avocado toast and a huge steak sandwich, the food took some time to prepare, but was brought out hot and yummy. Later we got coffee, which was also hot and full of flavour. We'll back :)
