HIVE Bakery & Cafe

Crema's Take
“Tucked into West Palm Beach's dining scene, this bakery-café has earned a loyal following for its gourmet pastries and cupcakes that rival any dedicated patisserie, all while serving as the kind of welcoming third space where you can linger over coffee or squeeze in a quick takeout treat. The cozy spot manages to balance its identity as both a serious brunch and breakfast destination that requires reservations on busy days and an intimate early-dinner spot with appealing display cases that make it hard to resist the baked goods. While service can be hit-or-miss depending on when you visit, the combination of top-notch decor, quality food, and that neighborhood-café energy keeps regulars coming back.”

My friend recommended we dine here for brunch and I'm so happy we did. On a Monday early afternoon, this place was very busy so reservations were needed. Upon walking in, this place seems small but it expands! Our server was such a joy! I enjoyed. French toast with crispy potatoes and a lemonade. My meal was absolutely delicious, I look forward to returning and trying a few of their baked goods.
Although it has a dining room, I just came in to take out a couple of vanilla bean cupcakes to go! Delish gourmet baking! Yum! It is known as an American café serving lunch and dinner too! Next to it is the Hive Home Shop. Located right near the Norton Museum of Art. Wonderful little section of West Palm Beach and a great way to spend an afternoon!
I came here for an early dinner on a Friday while waiting to meet up with friends at the art museum. It was quiet and there were a lot of very appealing baked goods on the display case and wall. I ordered a margarita and a vegan house-made mushroom pasta dish that was SO GOOD! I originally put this restaurant on my radar because Google told me they had a vegan cake that I was interested in trying. Unfortunately they did not have any that day, but I did walk out with a vegan sprinkle cookie instead.
In Palm Beach on a business trip and happened upon Hive as our restaurant pick for the evening. Loved it! The service, food and decor were all top notch. Looking forward to our next business trip here so I can return.
I have never felt this unappreciated as a restaurant guest before. The service was really disappointing. As we walked in, the receptionist saw us carelessly, didn’t greet us or offer a seat. Our waitress barely listened when we were ordering and even in the middle of our conversation she turned away to chat with the people at another table. Later, when we asked for the check, she stood behind my friend watching how much she would tip. It felt so awkward. When she didn’t get what she wanted, she just walked away without even saying anything. I gave it 3 stars only because of the parking crew — they were the best! These guys definitely deserve a tip option at least. The food was ok. But nothing extraordinary.
