Crema's Take

This Gainesville bagel spot wins hearts with genuinely kind staff who actually take time to chat with you—one regular raves about Hollis's consistent positivity, while first-timers praise the patient guidance through their generous cream cheese selection. The bagels themselves are impressively hefty (seriously, plan on two meals), and the open, relaxed layout makes it perfect for either a quick grab or lingering over coffee with family, though fair warning: the kitchen can get backed up when it's busy. It's the kind of place where the people matter as much as the food, creating that rare feeling of being welcomed rather than just served.

The bagels were delicious and the service was quick. The lady that helped us up front had great recommendations and gave us lots of samples from the cream cheese selection.

Hollis was fantastic! Extremely friendly and accommodating. Always very happy and positive each time I go in. The bagels were amazing and huge. Definitely 2 meals in one. Would 110% recommend!

The service is very slow. There is usually not much of a line to order, but the crowd waiting for food is a mob scene. It just feels unbalanced and leaves u waiting for food too long. The bagels are really good, but the cream cheese portioning is what lacks. Paying $3+ for cream cheese should mean there is a veryyy thick slab between the bagel. Instead it is almost dry with barely any cream chees. That's not traditional for a bagel shop at all. It doesn't live up to the new york/philly/jersey bagels whatsoever, and shouldn't be priced the same. Normally I wouldn't write a review, but this is not a one time thing. It has happened with the cream cheese each time I've gone, and at first I excused to mistakes but now it seems their standard service.

Nice-looking shop with an open layout and plenty of seating. It wasn’t busy for a Saturday morning, which was surprising. Parking can be hit or miss, but I lucked out with a spot right up front. Otherwise, expect a garage situation. I arrived early and placed my order. It was ready about five minutes after the quoted pickup time, which wasn’t a big deal. Staff greeted me and confirmed my order without any issues. Bagels are long and not the usual size, which is fine in theory. But if you’re going to do bigger bagels, they need to be filled better, especially for the price. The variety of bagels and flavored cream cheeses is definitely a highlight. Lots of options, and that part was done well. Now for the actual food. I ordered an avocado bagel that was supposed to include avocado, fried egg, tomato, and arugula. I added lox and requested salt and pepper. What I got: No arugula No salt or pepper Onions that I did not ask for Lox that looked old, with grayish parts, and very thin slices like they were pulled straight from a package Overall bland, flat, and lacking flavor For a place that presents itself as a “healthy” spot, this felt more like a polished cover than a quality product. The ingredients didn’t taste fresh, and the execution didn’t match the menu description. The space is nice and the shop has potential. I might come back to try the cream cheese on its own, because that seems to be where they shine. But for an actual bagel sandwich, Dave's New York Deli is still my go-to. Authentic, flavorful, and not pretending to be something it’s not. This place looks good. It just needs to back it up.

This was our first visit, and it's an instant favorite for me. We were greeted by a really kind person who was patient with us while we made our choices and was also very friendly. We immediately felt welcome. The variety of bagels and spreads is impressive, and that's what brought us in, but we were pleasantly surprised by a truly delicious bagel. I had the asiago with bacon chive cream cheese, my daughter had a blueberry bagel with blueberry cream cheese, and both were fantastic. The bagels are massive, we could have shared one. The coffee was really good, nice and hot. We brought home a variety of bagels to try, and the price was extraordinarily reasonable. This place is a nice addition to the bagel places in Gainesville, the spreads really set them apart, but they also have sandwiches which we look forward to trying. The hospitality of the employees really impressed us.
