Crema's Take

Tucked away in West Haven, this gem serves up scratch-made comfort food and welcoming vibes that keep locals coming back for everything from their legendary mac and cheese trays to bingo nights. The owners genuinely care—you'll notice them stopping by tables to check in, while staff moves with the kind of attentiveness that makes you feel like a regular on your first visit. It's the rare neighborhood spot that nails both the food (fresh, flavorful, made in-house) and the atmosphere, creating a place where friends linger over coffee and pastries, families feel at home, and the prime rib is worth the trip alone.

Great prime rib and a jalapeno dip for an appetizer. Friendly and attentive server. Good beer selection. Comfortable seating. Manager/owner stopped at table a couple times to check on us.

I genuinely love this place. I work in West Haven, so me and my coworkers & friends come here a lot for bingo specifically - but this spot is IT!!! The service is awesome, the owners are super friendly, and the food is soooo good every single time. I have never had a bad experience and I’ve been coming here for a year and a half! This is a great spot! Highly recommend!

Food is amazing! The chef makes a lot of stuff from scratch! Staff is amazing! It’s a great place to be a regular! You have to get their trays of mac and cheese! Amazing! Plus they have amazing cookies on their dessert menu! 🍪

If it hadn’t been for the high Google rating, we probably wouldn’t have stopped here for dinner — we might’ve assumed it was just another local bar with a great beer selection. Thankfully, the reviews drew us in, and even with high expectations, we were still pleasantly surprised. From the start, the cocktail selection was thoughtful and the one we tried was both colorful and inventive. That same creativity carried through to the food: a well-executed blend of modern American cuisine with French and Chinese influences. It’s a bold mix, but it worked beautifully. Highlights included a rich, creamy garlic-cheese French fondue and a fresh, vibrant shrimp and rice bowl — both dishes were flavorful and artfully presented. The outdoor patio offered a great atmosphere, and the staff was friendly and attentive. The only small drawback was the relatively limited vegetarian selection, though there were still a few solid options — and the ones we tried were genuinely tasty.
