Cafe Landwer
383 Chestnut Hill Ave, Watertown, MA
Crema's Take
“This Watertown café draws a loyal crowd for its skillfully crafted coffee and thoughtfully prepared Middle Eastern-inspired brunch, with standout dishes like shakshuka and inventive sandwiches that satisfy both vegetarians and meat-eaters alike. The warm, unhurried atmosphere makes it a genuine destination for lingering over specialty drinks and pastries, though service can be inconsistent—the best experiences come when you're greeted by staff like Dayana who genuinely anticipate your needs. It's worth the slightly higher prices if you're seeking a welcoming spot to settle in with friends or a good book, rather than just a quick caffeine fix.”
What to expect
Specialty coffee. A slow-sit spot, good for meetings. Full breakfast, pastries, and light food on the menu.

I got the vegan meatballs to go from cafe landwer and was extremely disappointed. This dish is $20 and only came with 3 small meatballs. Portion size was ridiculously small and the meatballs themselves lacked flavor. I worked in kitchens for 8 years, so I'm not looking to bash…
Stopped in for quick drink and dessert. Loved the vibe and service was friendly. -Basque cheesecake with berry coulis 10 -iced matcha latte , mint iced tea were great They had some interesting tea options I'd like to try my next visit
Held my daughter’s 16th birthday in the private room at the back. I cannot recommend it enough! The girls had total privacy, the room was beautifully set up, the food was phenomenal (teen girls and healthy food… match made in heaven) and the service was kind and professional.…
We ordered shakshuka for brunch, but it wasn’t to my taste. It was a bit too heavy on the tomato paste flavor. The challah bread served with it was absolutely delicious, though! We also had a large latte, and it was very good.
The food was delicious, the service was great, and the atmosphere was nice. The dishes came out quickly as well. The prices are a bit on the higher side, but overall it was a good experience.
Overall the place is great and food was good. The service was a bit slow. We came for hot drinks and dessert. They forgot the dessert, so we got it after we almost finished our drinks. They didn't really acknowledge the delay, which was weird to me.
