Crema's Take
“Aurora is the Plaza District's brunch destination, earning consistent praise for its thoughtfully crafted specialty drinks like the standout lavender iced latte alongside strong traditional coffee. The spacious, welcoming atmosphere with outdoor seating and a full breakfast and pastry menu makes it ideal for lingering over coffee with friends or colleagues, though expect a wait on busy weekend mornings. While service can be inconsistent, at its best Aurora delivers the kind of warm, attentive experience that keeps locals returning for their Saturday morning ritual.”

Aurora is the best option for brunch in the Plaza District. I have been several times and it has always been great. It does get busy, but you can join the waitlist on days when they do not take reservations, which helps a lot. Aurora has both indoor and outdoor seating and is a great place to go with groups of almost any size. While it stays busy, the staff does a great job taking care of everyone. It can get a little loud, but it is mostly the sound of people enjoying good food and good conversation. The brunch menu has a lot of great options and everything I have tried has been delicious. I usually go with the Farmer's Combo with sausage, bacon, eggs, potatoes, and toast. It never disappoints. The portions are generous and the food is cooked to perfection and well seasoned. Several people in our group even had leftovers to take home. Today I decided to try the breakfast burrito and I think I found a new favorite. The burrito was huge and packed with eggs, your choice of bacon, sausage, or chicken, along with cheese, peppers, onions, and potatoes. I appreciated that the potatoes were included but did not overwhelm the other ingredients. They also have a great selection of pastries. Today we tried the blueberry lemon tart and it was incredible. The Plaza District is one of the real jewels of Oklahoma City. After visiting Aurora, take some time to explore the nearby shops or walk over to the Plaza Walls to check out the murals. If you are looking for a great brunch spot in OKC, Aurora is hard to beat.
Server was very monotone, didn’t ever smile and seemed like he’d rather be doing something else. He also never came to refill water, check in or anything. I got the grilled cheese with bacon which later made me sick and throw up. The fry’s were not good at all, they were like hard potato chips, however that’s just an opinion. Inside overall was pretty cute and very inclusive. Probably wouldn’t recommend for party’s of 2 because their seats for 2 are so close to each other you’re basically sitting side by side and can hear their conversations.
Stopped by while into for a wedding. We got the lavender iced latte (half caf) and by recommendation a maple iced latte. Both coffees were great, but the lavender would be an easy recommendation. The lavender was very sweet and potent but didn't overtake the coffee's flavor. Staff was nice, fast, and gave good recommendations. Would like to stop by for breakfast next time.
I feel like you can't go wrong with brunch in the plaza district. Aurora offers everything that you need for a cozy Saturday morning get together. Delicious coffee, adult beverages, warm sweet shareables to start the meal, plenty of healthy yet comforting options for the main course and I have to get a scone or two to go every time to have for breakfast or dessert the next day. Also love the effort the barista puts in for the coffee art, definitely a pegasus just needed a little more milk to finish. All my home coffee art turns into a blob so thanks again for the skill and effort that went into it!! The wait staff was friendly & attentive. They didn't rush our party out the door when we were done eating (even though several parties were waiting) allowing us to enjoy our conversation & drinks. Only note to management is it would be nice to have a decaf option. After a relaxing meal it's always nice to walk the stores in the district, to look at all the weird and wonderful things you never knew you needed and to support local businesses!! Keep in mind parking is limited in the district.
We had a fantastic experience here today for our office Christmas party. Our server was extremely attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. She made several great suggestions as people were ordering and we never had to wait long for drink refills. I had a latte with their brown sugar syrup which was perfect . One of the shareables we all had was the biscuit bomb which is a biscuit stuffed with egg and sausage and then smothered in gravy and drizzled with chili sauce. It was the highlight of everything I ate and I highly recommend you try it! I ordered the ham carbonara for my meal which had house made pasta. It’s really easy to screw carbonara up but the sauce was perfect. The parmesan gave a little more bite than I care for, but it was still very good. I ordered a cinnamon roll to go because our server suggested them and as I’m enjoying it right now as dessert for the evening, I’m glad I brought one home. Definitely stop in and give this place a try if you’re in midtown!
