Bedlam Book Cafe
138 Green St, Worcester, MA
Crema's Take
“Nestled in the back of a thoughtfully curated used bookstore, this Worcester spot pairs espresso-focused coffee with the kind of cozy, unhurried atmosphere that makes lingering over a cappuccino feel essential. The real magic happens when you combine a solid coffee program with shelves of interesting books and a genuinely welcoming vibe—it's the kind of place where you can actually settle in, whether you're meeting a friend or working on your laptop for hours.”

The bookstore and selection were amazing!! This is a wonderfully cozy atmospheric bookshop. Though I give 3 stars because the price on the coffee was outrageous. $8 for a perfectly normal medium sized (no small size) lavender sage latte?! Nothing about this latte made it worth $8. Please price your lattes like normal places, I can do $5 maybe even $6 but not $8. My coffee cost the same as my book 😭
Cute and comfortable place to hang out for a while.
Great used book store with an interesting collection for fair prices, plus a cool vibe and coffee in the back
Bedlam Book Café is an amazing place! It’s cozy, chill, and full of good vibes. The coffee shop inside makes it even better I had a cappuccino and it was very tasty. The lady at the coffee shop was very professional and nice. I definitely recommend this place!
I try to support independent bookstores. I have come here several times. Today was a big disappointment. I was looking for The Wild Robot. I asked the cashier/owner where the children’s books where, I looked in the area and I did not see it. I asked her if they had it and she said ‘we do not have an electronic inventory.’ I said ‘that’s fine, can you please help me look?’ And she again said ‘we do not have an electronic inventory’. I asked her to help me look in the shelves and I guess she was too busy because she just told me to ‘browse’. No offer to order it for me, etc. I’ll just get it from Amazon. They really need to be more helpful here. They also should get some more modern children’s books: they seem to mostly have old stuff (a lot of Dr. Seuss) there are a lot of good modern children’s books out there and they are missing out. I honestly expected more from an independent book store, something along the lines of ‘we might not have this book, but have you heard of this other book???!! Similar theme etc..’. Independent book stores need to do more than just ‘not being Amazon’ if they want to have foot traffic and sales.
