Kenilworth Community Cafe

My husband and I got married in September 2025 and having our wedding reception at Kenilworth Assembly Hall was the ultimate privilege. We wanted our wedding reception to feel cozy, intimate, traditional, and plain old "cool". With its historic prairie-style architecture, moody lighting, those leaded glass windows (swoon), the list goes on -- KAH was the perfect venue to bring that vision to life. To start, NONE of this would have been possible without the incredible support of Monique and her team. From the very beginning, Monique was so sweet, patient, encouraging, and accessible, answering every question I had honestly and thoughtfully. It is so evident that she truly cares about her clients and their vision for the day. We decided to keep the doors to the reception/dining space closed until dinner was to start for a "reveal" effect. I had a couple people ask me if I gave strict orders to keep those doors closed because Monique was "guarding them with her life!" Just one example of her attention to detail and commitment to the success of the day. She took care of coordination with the caterer and vendors on the day of so we were able to simply enjoy the day. We had just over 100 guests and it felt like the perfect amount for the space. Guests were able to enjoy cocktails on the patio or at high tops by the bar, play a game of bocce ball on the lawn, or relax in the comfy seats by the fireplace. We used Sweet Baby Ray's as our caterer from KAH's preferred caterer list and multiple people told us it was some of the best food they've had at a wedding. We did a buffet style setup and guests were able to quickly move through the line. Both the venue and bar package were very affordable, especially given the location in historic Kenilworth. We also couldn't have asked for a better backdrop to take photos, between the beautifully maintained lawn at KAH and the historic Metra station across the street. We even got some cheers from people waiting to catch the train into the city. My one regret is that we didn't get any in front of the fountain -- it is so gorgeous. If you read this far, I hope you got the gist of my message: Have your wedding (or any event) at Kenilworth Assembly Hall!

We could not have found a more perfect venue for our wedding on July 12, 2025. From the moment we showed up for our tour and met with Monique, we knew Kenilworth was the place for us. The venue is beautiful, historic, and well-maintained, yet the pricing and contract requirements are completely reasonable and fair. We felt comfortable and at home from that very first visit. We also found an excellent caterer (Catered by Design) from their preferred catering list. Monique was a dream to work with--so organized and punctual yet laid-back and flexible. We received so many compliments on the venue from our guests. While we opted to have both our ceremony and reception indoors, Monique allowed us to open up the lawn and patio to guests for cocktail hour, which was absolutely stunning and a huge hit. I would recommend Kenilworth to anyone looking for a wedding venue!

My husband and I had our wedding at the Kenilworth Assembly Hall this past June. We couldn't have dreamed of a better venue for us! From the beautiful craftsmanship, gorgeous lawn, stylish tableware, and beyond! The bar, the kitchen, the music supply, the space! The list goes on and on, we could not be more pleased with our experience with the events team here! Especially Monique - who is patient with nervous couples and an expert event planner.

An incredible space to host your wedding! You won't be disappointed with the variety of unique scenes for wedding photos! The building is impressive inside and out with the hall's dark wood ceiling boldly on display taking you back to a bygone time. The building's prairie style architecture has been lovingly cared for over the century making this a gem in the Northern Suburbs.

We decided to do our fundraiser for our Guatemalan NGO at the Kenilworth Assembly Hall and we couldn't be more pleased with how it turned out! Michelle is an absolute delight to work with and makes the process easy and stress-free. Michelle is a pro and provides great insight and recommendations to make your event successful. The venue is intimate and gorgeous. Our event was in the evening and the lighting was great. We are already excited to plan our next event here as many of our guests have already asked and suggested we do it at the Kenilworth Assembly Hall again!
