Poetica Coffee
240 Prospect Park W, Brooklyn, NY
Crema's Take
“This Prospect Park-adjacent gem has earned fierce loyalty from its regulars with genuinely caring staff who remember your name and order, paired with thoughtfully crafted espresso drinks and an impressive matcha program that keeps people coming back daily. The space strikes that rare Brooklyn balance between a productive laptop cafe and a slow-sip destination, with cozy interior nooks and outdoor seating that invite you to linger over their solid pastries and breakfast offerings. While prices lean premium, the combination of quality beverages, attentive service, and a relaxed creative atmosphere make it feel worth the investment rather than just another overpriced NYC cafe.”

I’ve been coming here since it first opened. The staff is so friendly, the beverages are carefully made to order, and the food is tasty too! I especially love their avocado toast and spinach croissants. I also want to thank the management for recently supporting my local preschool students with a donation of paper bags for Valentine’s Day. You guys are the best!
Poetica has been my daily go to for over 2 years! Nozima, Gabe and Bella always greet me with a smile. I love stopping in for a quick latte or matcha. If you're looking for good food and drinks, an excellent atmosphere and warm and friendly staff, Poetica is the spot!
I love this place! They’re pretty overpriced, like many other cafes in NYC. However, I’d rather spend the money here than at Starbucks. Their service is amazing, and the interior is gorgeous. There’s even a little hidden area in the back filled with windows and plants! I’d recommend their seasonal coffee drinks and matcha lattes. The pastries were yummy too!
Cozy, homey space. Matcha was very light color + a little grainy FYI. Lots of seating in the back + people working on laptops. Pubic WiFi + bathroom! Small amount of outdoor seating. Staff was super friendly + remade the drink for the customer in front of me with kindness + understanding when it wasn’t what they wanted. Not a ton of standing room in line FYI. The buns in the front pastry case looked amazing. Will def be back to try more!
Located right across from Prospect Park, this cozy café has become one of my favorite stops in Brooklyn. The vibe is relaxed, creative, and welcoming — perfect for a quiet morning coffee, catching up with a friend, or getting some work done. Their coffee is consistently excellent — smooth, rich, and thoughtfully crafted. Whether you’re into a classic drip, a strong espresso, or one of their seasonal specials, you’re in for a treat. I especially love their oat milk matcha latte — always perfectly balanced. Plus, the interior has a simple, warm charm with just enough seating to feel lively without being crowded.
