Luxe 38 Cafe & Lounge

Stumbled across this little place today. At first glance we thought it was closed by the look from the outside. Once we got in, it was very humid where the floors were damp and slippery. The young lady up front was nice but seemed nervous. It took a little while to get our food but, once we did, it was good. There were four of us and everyone was pleased with the food. I didn’t get pictures of the other two plates because we already dove into them. For a sit down restaurant, the amenities (air condition) were a little offsetting but overall it was pretty good and we will most likely go back again.

First of all, chicken was immaculate. The waffle was top tier too, but the chicken was better than any I’ve had at other fast food restaurants. Waitress was so so sweet, constantly making sure we had everything we needed. And for one lady doing all the cooking in the kitchen the wait wasn’t bad, especially for the quality of the food. Highly recommend cause this was a new experience for me!

I heard about Lux38 and decided to give it a try since I had a friend in town. The pictures and menu looked good. We got 4 of the breakfast plates with pancakes, scrambled eggs,bacon, sausage and grits. I spent $ 70 with a TIP. It was horrible l. We ordered at 9:38 am and finally got our food at 10: 35. Food was ice cold. Grits were lumpy and watery at the same time. My friend asked for eggs over medium, every egg was just chopped up like it was forgotten on the grill. They did offer free drinks for the wait. Never again. Pancakes were also thick and tasteless

Meh. The Friday special and burger combo just isn’t worth $40. My daughter said her hamburger tasted like meatloaf and I wasn’t fond of the super sweet cornbread dressing. My fish was definitely overcooked and broke the plastic fork trying to cut into it. You don’t even get to choose your side. Green beans. That’s what you get. Hope you like them because you don’t get any other option. This may be the place for you, it isn’t for us. Definitely a one and done in my book.

The chicken club is great. They will customize it as to your likes. The fries were hot and fresh. Ms Courtney is a very gracious host and wonderful cook. It’s a great food option in our area. We are glad to be able to support this business. Good luck and wishes for success.
