“The baristas at Hallowed Grounds inspire a level of devotion that borders on the spiritual—regulars don't just come for coffee, they come for the people making it. This University of Chicago hangout nails the rare balance of being genuinely beautiful (beautiful architecture inside and outside, according to reviews) while staying unpretentious enough for a solo study session or long conversation with friends. The coffee and pastries are legitimately excellent, and unlike many college coffee bars, it actually delivers on the promise of being a place worth lingering in.”
