The Traveler

Crema's Take
“Tucked away from Ocean Springs' main drag, The Traveler is a peaceful creative haven where expertly crafted lattes arrive in mugs that seem to defy physics and fluffy biscuits become the stuff of legend. The kitchen executes both comforting breakfast classics and more ambitious dishes like tender biscuit braise with citrus glaze, creating the kind of place where lingering over coffee and conversation feels like the whole point.”

We love Ocean Springs and we love Peter Anderson festival so I was excited to see a new place to eat during the festival. This quaint spot is ideal for a casual lunch or dinner and if the season is right, there is plenty of room to enjoy the outdoor dining spaces. I was impressed with their eclectic decor and the charm of this quintessential beach bungalow cottage new life as an eatery. The staff was really friendly and the food was amazing. The wait, however, was quite long, more than 40 minutes I believe. Let’s be honest, longtime OS festival participants are used to the long wait for any foods that weekend and they usually use this time to unwind with a drink and catch up with friends. Unless, of course, you don’t drink and you decide to split off from the group and venture out on your own. We thought we had arrived early enough ahead of the festival crowd but it didn’t seem to matter. I think they had only one cook that day so it’s understandable. All was forgiven though because my breakfast burrito was chocked full of all the yummy stuff! Would I choose this place again? Absolutely! Just not on a day there’s a festival (or any other event) in town.
10/10 Vibe+Art+Peaceful. Food was phenomenal especially my egg n chz biscuit. Pretty sure this mug my latte in has super powers. 😛 the latte is staying the same temperature regardless how much time passes… BIG W!! Emphasis on the peaceful aura present. I’ll be back to try more
I had the Biscuit Braise. The chicken was so tender and moist! The citrus glaze and pan au jus was delightful and paired well together. Don’t get me started on those fluffy biscuits, yummy 😋
Yummy lattes.. We ate the hpt and honey chicken, and the quiche. Yummmmmm. Beautiful place. Great food. Thanks. I have reviewed alot of places, from the atmosphere, the food, the coffee, the nice young lady that took our order... this place of purrrrfect!
Super cute spot away from the bustle of Government Street in Ocean Springs. Came here after running the bridge for breakfast. The South of the Border bowl was excellent, nicely seasoned and a nice portion. Lavender latte was also great. Enjoyed sitting on the front porch and watching the butterflies in the zinnias around the old VW bus. Very peaceful, would be a great spot for lunch too after visiting the art museum next door. Cute inside too. Would come again.
