Crema's Take

Tucked into the vibrant Findlay Market neighborhood, Taste of Belgium brings authentic Belgian waffles and creative crêpes to Cincinnati with a warm, casual vibe that feels both special and approachable. Their signature Belgian waffles—whether topped with apple cinnamon or served as an inventive (if unconventional) sandwich base—showcase a commitment to doing one thing with real care, and the outdoor seating lets you soak in the Market's energy while you eat. It's the kind of spot that draws repeat visits from locals craving something genuinely different from the usual coffee shop fare.

This was a fun snack in Findlay Market, although the blac wheat was not my personal favorite choice of grains to make a crêpe.

Great tasty Belgium waffles as ever. Wishing the North Market location in Columbus did not close. It would have been closer to visit. Findlay Market location in Cincinnati is a little too far, but nevertheless the shop is still in business after so many years.

I feel like I should have realized that my sandwich would be in between Belgian Waffles 😭 that part kind of threw me off a bit because it was sweet. I’m sure there’s an audience that would really like this type of sandwich. Service is fast and there’s seating outside shared between all the restaurants in the market 👍🏽

Today, we got to go to Findlay Market and while we were there we saw the establishment, Taste of Belgium. This place was recommended to me by one of my friends who lives near here as I’m from another state. We wanted to order sandwiches and desserts off their menu, but we were told they no longer serve sandwiches. For us, this was a bit of a let down and I would suggest updating the menu to reflect only those items that are available for purchase. We left to go buy sandwiches from another place, but returned to buy lemon cheesecakes, frosted oatmeal cookie, snickerdoodle cookie, peanut butter cookie and a buckeye. My friend also purchased other cookies 🍪 and she made the comment that the person behind the counter acted like he didn’t want to be there. He also didn’t talk very clearly. Another patron was raving about all the desserts and said everything was good. I ate the cheesecake and it was good, however it was not very 🍋 lemony. I’ve eaten the snickerdoodle and it is good but each of these items have been lacking the main ingredient flavour. Having said this, I would definitely return to try other items if I lived in this area. I wanted to try their waffles, but I am already on carbohydrate overload.
