Crema's Take
“Holsem Coffee is where espresso mastery meets laid-back San Diego charm, with baristas who nail that sweet spot between knowledgeable craft and genuine hospitality. Their signature creations like the orange cinnamon latte have earned devoted regulars, and the spacious, laptop-friendly vibe makes it equally perfect for solo focus sessions or hosting small gatherings. With alt milks offered free and a rotating selection of cold brew options, they prove that attention to detail extends beyond the cup—it's built into their whole approach.”

Quality takes time. I don't mind the wait for perfection. The barista was the perfect amount of unbothered and snobby and polite. Loved it. The orange cinnamon latte is HEAVEN. Super cute place with a decent retail selection.
Their hazelnut chocolate cold brew tasted like chocolate water. I also finished it in about 3 minutes since the whole cup was filled with large ice cubes. Added photo proof because I can’t make this up… Pretty disappointing for a $8 coffee… The service was pretty bad to, the cashier didn’t ask me if it was for there or to go. I was served in a plastic cup while everyone else had the glassware. She seemed annoyed with me asking questions about the menu so maybe she did want me to leave instead. I used to come here frequently in the past but this will be my last time visiting and recommending to others.
Service was prompt, music was solid, and the coffee was incredible. I got a standard iced latte with oat milk (they don't charge for alt milks, yay!) and it was perfectly balanced. Indoor felt spacious, with plenty of room between tables allowing for privacy and potentially getting work done. Prices were fair given 3rd-wave coffee and ambiance. Would definitely return!
Im not usually a fan of flavored coffee but the orange late was just enough flavor without being overwhelming and added a nice twist to it. They also had a bunch of different cold brew options which I think I will give a go next time. The only downside that I was a bit bummed by was the lack of mugs and glasses. the staff was pretty friendly with great recommendations and was pretty quick for a long line. The atmosphere was pretty nice as well with a modern minimalist look that has a decent amount of natural lighting.
Always have wonderful drinks and a wonderful time! I’ve never been disappointed and go almost once every other week! I hosted a journal club and the team was so accommodating. Everyone absolutely loved their drinks and food, cannot recommend Holsem enough for brunch, a coffee date or a place to do a bit of work! Will be back again next week!
