Great Harvest Bakery + Café
382 Pine St, Burlington, VT
Crema's Take
“This beloved Burlington bakery-café is a quiet standout for its exceptional house-made breads—the Farmer's White is legendary enough that locals buy it by the loaf—paired with generous, budget-friendly breakfast sandwiches and an impressive array of pastries that staff are genuinely enthusiastic about sharing. The warm, welcoming atmosphere and intoxicating aroma of fresh bread draw people in equally for a quick coffee grab or a lingering sit, making it feel less like a café stop and more like a neighborhood gathering spot where quality and value actually go hand in hand.”

My husband loves the Farmer’s White bread here. They sell it by the loaf (and you can also find it at City Market). You can also find a selection of baked goods, and some sandwiches and salads. There’s an adjacent parking area.
High value, high quality breakfast and lunch sammies for those who are ballin’ on a budget! 10/10 recommend! Delicious breads — make sure to ask for a sample and you’ll get a FULL slice (wow). Fairly limited seating during weekend brunch hours or weekday lunch times. Lots of people in and out! Be sure to check out their fun holiday baking menus as they change the baked goods often and you’ll want to try everything. This place is such a staple.
The only negative I can give to this place is that it's not open longer. Great Harvest out classes every cafe in Burlington. The staff are wonderful and the atmosphere is great! The place smells of fresh baked bread at all times and the staff is competent enough to make a good cup of joe every time they make it. They bother to do actual latte art. The sandwich menu isn't massive but it doesn't need to be. Their sandwiches are delicious, filling and cheap for the volume and quality of food! Great staff, good food, fair prices.
Cool place with friendly staff and an intoxicating aroma as you approach the entrance. I tried the Sour Dough, Multigrain and Cinnamon Swirl breads. OUTSTANDING all! The heft of the bread was perfect. The texture was chewy and light simultaneously. The cinnamon swirl bread was sweetened perfectly with an earthy cinnamon flavor that hit mid tongue. Watching the bakers work caringly on the next batch of baked goods perfected the atmosphere. In short, umm, I liked it! 😎 We WILL be back!
This bakery is a hidden gem with the most incredible selection and quality of baked goods with great prices. Huge and delicious cranberry almond biscotti and pumpkin brownies. The pepperoni rolls were insane!wow! They also use only La Colombe coffee, the best around. Can't wait to go back again. A must stop if you're in Burlington. They also have a points system so you can earn cool rewards with purchases. Love this place!
