1369 Coffee House
1369 Cambridge St, Cambridge, MA
Crema's Take
“1369 Coffee House is a cozy neighborhood spot in Cambridge where the espresso drinks are crafted with real care and the freshly scrambled egg bagel sandwiches justify the hype. Beyond the solid coffee, they've thoughtfully sourced high-quality matcha from local suppliers and keep a rotating selection of pastries and breakfast options that draw regulars back multiple times a week. It's the kind of place that feels genuinely welcoming—busy but never rushed, with staff who actually seem happy to be there, making it as good for lingering over a slow cup as it is for grabbing something quick.”

You know the bagel sandwich is gonna be good when they use freshly scrambled eggs! Iced oat latte was great and they use high quality matcha (from MEM tea in davis sq). There's a reason this place has been around for decades.
This place is fantastic! Welcoming atmosphere with good vibes and friendly staff! Plus the coffee and food is fantastic!! My wife and I went twice because it was so good and I got the spicy BLT then the spicy egg sandwich. Both were delicious and filling; plus decaf mocha each time was out of sight! I love coffee but can’t really handle caffeine so I really appreciated that they were able to accommodate me and do decaf espresso drinks.
I really cannot understand the hype of this place. It may be the most overrated coffee shop I’ve ever been to. I’ve been several times, thinking it MUST be a fluke. But no. The coffee isn’t good. The food isn’t good. The pastries aren’t good. The atmosphere is fine, at best. Everything is served in cheap plastic- even if you are dining in. And I’m just so bothered that people settle for this and think it’s good. of all the bad things going on in the world, at least we deserve a decent cafe.
1369 is a smaller coffee shop and cafe located within Inman Square, with other locations spread throughout the Boston/Cambridge Area. The service was fast, friendly, and the service was busy but quick, as we got our order quite quickly. The breads were good, pretty standard and tasty bread. The matcha however left a lot to be desired. We got an oat milk matcha latte with maple syrup added in, and unfortunately this combo didn't seem to work. It was very sweet and watered down quickly with no matcha taste. We've heard good things about the other drinks, so we'd have to try the others first, but this time wasn't appealing.
Everyone I talked to, who knows 1369, loves them. I come here at least twice a week and the bakery and atmosphere are always amazing. The drinks are great, too! They offer a large variety of drinks that everyone can find something they like in each season (their campfire cider in the fall is genius). However, the reason why I finally came to leave a review is because their EGGNOG IS SO GOOD!! I used to live upstate NY and get freshly made eggnogs from a local farm/bakery place. I haven't been able to find good eggnogs since, but today I have! So happy I live so close to them and super grateful for the staff there to help me with my request (a large cup of pure eggnogs) ❤️
