I was in the area for a meeting and popped into Ellie’s for quick bite. I didn’t have any expectations as I hadn’t researched it, but let me tell you — this was the best egg and cheese burrito I’ve ever had. The tortilla tasted homemade and was arguably better than the homemade ones in Texas. The eggs were so delicious and fresh. I paired the burrito with the red salsa which was relatively mild but had flavor, which I find is so rare for mild sauces. It also had mushrooms which was a wonderful touch!.
Newport’s Breakfast Gem! Tried Ellie’s Table and honestly — my tastebuds are still clapping! The breakfast burrito? Fluffy, flavorful, and wrapped like it was going to a red carpet. The veggie omelet? Packed with fresh spinach, mushrooms, and that goat cheese hit just right. And the carrot cake? Don’t even get me started… soft, moist, and perfectly frosted. Staff was friendly, vibe was classy-but-cozy, and everything was beautifully packed to-go. 10/10 would recommend — unless you’re on a diet. Then… good luck.
Really good: - chilaquiles (salsa verde on the side so it doesn’t soak the chips) - Tri tip sandwich - BLT - chili relleno quiche Good: - vegetable focaccia sandwich - sausage breakfast burrito - Ellie’s burger (would be better if there wasn’t as much “stuff” on it. It’s a great burger but adding too many toppings start detracting from what’s already great. Maybe one less patty too). - club sandwich - too much meat to bread ratio. - Reuben - it was tasty but the meat tasted slightly gamy and there was too much thousand island sauce which ended up soaking the bread and making it soft. Ok: - broccoli salad - quinoa vegetable soup - palm tuna sandwich - Palm corned beef sandwich When there’s not a wait the service is quick. If there’s a line of 5-6 people it can take a while to get your food. Overall a convenient and tasty spot.
Food is fantastic, had their Tri-tip Chimichurri sandwich. Beef was flavorful and moist. Nothing was overpowering, all the flavors were well balanced. Paired it with a cold brew which was just as wonderful. No detectable acidity, just smooth. Ambience is great outside, it’s got a corporate air to it due to location, would take a star for that, but the seating outside is excellent with tons of comfortable seating, greenery, and shade. Employees were friendly and helpful. If I find myself back here, definitely stopping by again.
If you're visiting the Boardwalk, a luxury office complex on Jamboree and Dupont, an unexpected surprise awaits at Ellie's Table. Inside the corner of the first floor of the Boardwalk sits Ellie's, surrounded with floor-to-ceiling windows. While the location is modern chic to fit the office aesthetic, the baked and food offerings feel home-made with a professional touch. When you walk in, you're always greeted with a smile and the folks there are happy to provide suggestions or explain their menu. You've got fantastic cookies and other baked sweets on one end. The peanut butter cookie is sweet and savory perfection, and their European Coffee Cake is a fluffy, crumbly dream centered with a dollop of rich cream. And you've got savory foods, which include little palm-sized sandwiches ranging from $3.50-4.50. They are a perfect few bites for a smaller lunch or a hearty snack. My favorite off-menu go-to is their bacon, egg, and cheese (you can also swap the bacon for sausage) palm sandwich. It's under $5, filling, and made fresh. So good! There are heartier options like large sandwiches, mini burritos, salads, and even a whole chilaquiles dish if you're in the mood for more. And of course, they've got an assortment of caffeinated beverages to get you in focus for work or a meeting, including fun seasonal-flavored or specialty lattes like the Churro Latte. Seems like they may validate parking based on others' experience. If you want to visit, you can also park at a nearby plaza (there is one across the street). If you work around the area, even better! Make it extra special by enjoying the beautiful, spacious outdoor seating area while you're there. You will be glad you dropped by.
