Crema's Take
“The Black Door Cafe is an elegantly appointed Charleston retreat where serious espresso craftsmanship meets genuine hospitality, anchored by a pristine La Marzocco setup that consistently delivers excellently extracted shots. Whether you're settling in with your laptop for the day, grabbing a breakfast sandwich on their exceptional brioche, or meeting a friend in one of their inviting armchairs, the combination of premium beans, thoughtful decor, and staff members like Chiquita who genuinely welcome guests makes this feel like a place that cares about more than just transactions. It's the kind of neighborhood coffee shop that locals return to each morning not just for the coffee, but for the whole experience.”

Happy Ash Wednesday. Stopped in for a quick Bacon, Egg and Cheese on a very flavorful brioche bun. sooo delicious. Great music, cool decor and great vibe! Will have to come back for excellent variety of coffee drinks.
The coffee shop is an elegant retreat. Perfect for quick meetings or relaxing breaks, it offers premium beans and impeccable service. Cozy atmosphere with fast Wi-Fi and armchairs that invite you to stay.
Extraction delicious, real nice Mazzer + La Marzocco setup and everything is dialed into spec however latte could have used a heart/design I can make at home in about 2 seconds (and the milk steamed incorrectly). ☕️
I loved the aesthetic and the quality of the food and drinks here. Unfortunately, the service was disappointing. It felt like the baristas weren't properly trained in customer engagement or simply didn't want to be there. This shop has so much potential, but without better service, it’s hard to justify coming back when there are so many other options nearby.
Excellent coffee, friendly staff, fairly priced. Chiquita went out of her way to welcome and serve us. We are here for several days, and this has been the perfect start to each day. Highly recommend.Foo Foo was also kind and helpful.
