Crema's Take

Tucked into downtown Troy, this cozy bakery is a masterclass in intentional craft, where every loaf of sourdough and almond croissant reveals the obsessive care of bakers who refuse to compromise on quality. Beyond the pastry case, their New Haven-style pizza by the slice and meticulously constructed sandwiches (especially the Tom's Turkey on their housemade ciabatta) elevate it from neighborhood bakery to a genuine destination that draws crowds during the Saturday Farmers Market. Whether you're grabbing a quick coffee and croissant or settling in for a leisurely lunch, the genuine warmth of the space makes it feel like a place that actually belongs to its community.

The place is cozy, the bread is baked to absolute perfection, their sourdough is awesome. What is not to love about this place?? Highly recommended if you're looking for amazing bakery bread in Troy Their sandwiches and cinnamon rolls are also top notch (of the stuff I managed to try, everything else is probably also perfect)

The pastry’s at placid are without a doubt great. But the sandwiches are the best in the city (along with Mallo’s). The pizza they do for lunch by the slice is New Haven style and truly some of the best in capital region. This place is all around a hidden gem

I discovered a great bakery in downtown Troy, especially lively during the Farmers Market on Saturdays. They offer an excellent selection of breads, bagels, and various pastries. However, there’s no espresso or mixed coffee—just a coffee station with drip coffee served from a thermos. It’s a local favorite for picking up fresh bread, with consistent foot traffic after 10 AM. There are also a few cozy spots to sit, both inside and outside. The pre made egg could be a little thinner or cook it separate or longer so its still not cold inside while the rest is melted. 😉

If I would own a bakery, I would die for the baker who makes that almond croissant. It was so not so sweet and crispy; I might dream about it tonight. This place isn’t that big and I think they focus mainly on baking. I can tell they make pastry in the morning and bread later in the day. Ambiance is like a bakery factory and a decent place to sit. The biggest and probably the only thing that matters is the bakery part. We had the chocolate croissant and almond one. I might just come back to Troy for those.

We stopped here for lunch yesterday. They offer sandwiches and lots of pastries. We shared the Tom's Turkey sandwich, which hit the spot. Highly recommend it. The ciabatta bread was so, so yummy. We also shared a mudslide, which was so tasty and not too sweet. It was the perfect chocolate treat. The restaurant is clean and the employees are nice and friendly. Highly recommend..
