Crema's Take

Alethea's Chocolates is a nostalgic gem that transports you to another era with its elegant, timeless atmosphere—the kind of place where an afternoon feels intentionally slowed down. What sets this Williamsville spot apart is its genuine mastery of traditional confections, especially their celebrated sponge candy and house-made fudge, paired with creamy ice cream that keeps locals coming back. The staff's genuine warmth and willingness to go the extra mile, combined with charming seasonal décor and complimentary samples, makes it feel less like a candy shop and more like a cherished neighborhood gathering spot.

It felt a bit like stepping back in time. The sundays were simple but nice and somewhat elegant much like the atmosphere. Prices seemed on par to others. I primarily am writing this review to give credit to the person working at the dessert Cafe (sunday) who was refreshing very friendly and polite, it is sadly not something as common these days and deserves recognition.

Alethea’s Chocolates – Williamsville, NY 🍫🍦 If there’s a chocolate heaven, Alethea’s is it! My brother and sister insisted we find sponge candy, and this place delivered big time. We were greeted by Sharon, who offered a sample of vanilla fudge (amazing!) before pointing us to the star of the show — sponge candy. It’s like caramel, honey, and toffee had a crispy, melt-in-your-mouth baby. I’m team dark chocolate, but milk chocolate fans won’t be disappointed. The shop feels like Chocolate Wonderland meets a 1950s ice cream parlor — full of charm, color, and sweet nostalgia. I didn’t try the ice cream this visit (saving that for next time), but it looked incredible. Friendly service, classic decor, and world-class chocolate — this is a must-visit in Williamsville. Alethea’s made me believe in love at first bite. ❤️🍫

The ice cream presentation is pretty cool. The flavor was not as flavorful as it should have been. A little pricey for the portion size as well. It is decorated pretty neat for fall time 🍂🍁

This is one of my favorite places for sponge candy and ice cream. The staff is always very friendly and will always go out of their way to assist customers. The ice cream is really great, and it's somewhere I bring my family when they come into town to visit.

I purchased several items to give as gifts and additional items to share with my family. Free fudge samples were offered in the store. Very helpful and friendly staff. The fudge sample was delicious and the chocolate covered potato chips were yummy.
