Crema's Take
“House of Bagels is a genuine neighborhood spot where the owner and his team genuinely care about getting your order right and fast, whether you're catching a quick commute or settling in for a full breakfast. Beyond the reliably fresh bagels and solid cold brew, they've earned loyalty by being one of the few places in San Rafael offering gluten-free bagels and a unexpected blend of Mexican-American breakfast options at prices that feel fair. It's the kind of place where staff notice you're in a rush and move mountains to help, making it less about specialty coffee craft and more about the warmth of being known.”
What to expect
Cold brew standout. Quick-grab spot. Full breakfast, pastries, and light food on the menu. Family friendly.

Bagel shop done right. Customer service was elite, bagels were bouncy, and the fillings made the experience burst with flavor. I always get bagels upon arriving in the bay from overseas and this place just hit the spot. Keep up the good work at the House of Bagels!
My boyfriend went to this place to get us bagels, ordered two everything bagels with scallion cream cheese and an asiago bagel no cream cheese, with a SMALL coffee. they charged him for a large coffee, but gave him a small. the cream cheese had no scallion cream cheese at all.…
I stop in between my train and bus commutes in the morning for their egg and cheese bagel...because it's fresh, super delicious and convenient. The staff is friendly and while it's not the speediest service, it's always with a smile. I am greatful they are where they are.
Backpacking, had 15 min to spare between buses. Gentlemen behind the counter noticed I was in hurry. Got my sesame/cream cheese bagel with ice coffee within 3 minutes. This bagel was so fresh it was warm. Highlight fo my day. I may comeback to San Rafael just for those bagels!
