Crema's Take

Olsen's anchors Solvang's pastry scene with genuinely excellent Danish butter cookies and custard-filled classics that justify the premium prices, though the coffee plays second fiddle to the baked goods. The casual, crowded vibe works in its favor—expect a line on weekends but quick service and plenty of seating inside to linger with your order. Skip this if you're after specialty coffee as the main event, but it's absolutely worth the detour if you want some of California's best casual Danish pastries paired with solid traditional drinks.

The baked goods are delicious! We enjoyed the different types of pastries they sell. I feel like the prices are a bit high but totally worth it, to treat yourself to their amazing breads, cookies and pastries.

I wanted one of of everything but then stumbled upon their gift shop and walked out with a cute purse instead of a calorie filled danish. Price-wise a $59 purse purchase was more profitable than a $5 danish but I was so pleased I completely forgot to go back for a danish.
