Crema's Take
“This chocolate and coffee shop in Kona is consistently unreliable: customers report it's frequently closed without notice, the signature chocolate-covered macadamia nuts have declined in quality (grainy, soft, overly sweet), and the whole bean coffee is notably bland and flavorless. The blue chocolate balls in particular draw complaints for tasting artificial and undisclosed ingredients, and the shop's erratic hours have left visitors (including families) turning up to locked doors. Unless you're passing by and it's actually open, there's no reason to make this a destination.”
What to expect
Classic coffee drinks done right. Quick-grab spot. Pastries on the menu.

See all on Google →Pretty disappointed. The donkey balls suck, especially the blue balls. The quality of the chocolate here is like Dollar store grainy overly sweet chocolate. The store is fine. Feel bad for the staff as barely anyone works there. Coffee was meh too. They were out of some syrups…
Listing said open till 6. We drove 35 minutes to get there. Arrived at 5:40. Shop closed, doors locked, nobody home. 9 yr old birthday girl very disappointed.
If less than 1 star would be possible…. Worst whole bean coffee I have ever purchased. Medium to dark was anything but, completely tasteless when brewed. No matter how much was used, or the fineness of the grind just mildly brown water was produced. Zero scent of coffee and…
Have tried to go to donkeyballs at least a dozen times. Always closed every time. Does not matter location or time. Battled how many stars to give them. In the end driving to kona to try the world famous donkeyballs has been a lame experience.
Donkey balls USED to be mac nuts dupped 50 times in chocolate and I loved them. The ones we bought yesterday were grainy and soft. Lousy fudge-like. Never buying again. Store was fine though. The product now sucks.
We purchased the blue ones and they were terrible. Described as "layers of milk and white chocolate" but were blue throughout. Blue dye was not listed as an ingredient. Tasted like play-dough. Crunchy ones were better but not great. I confused this place with the shop near…
