Topside Coffee Cabin

Crema's Take

Tucked away in Steilacoom, this cozy cabin-style spot excels at creating the kind of atmosphere where you actually want to linger—think outdoor seating with views, plenty of indoor nooks, and the kind of vibe that keeps people coming back. Their traditional coffee drinks (especially the mocha) and pastries hit the mark, and while payment is cash or card only, the reasonable prices and attentive service make it feel like a genuine neighborhood gathering place rather than just another caffeine pit stop.

I love this cafe. They serve good coffee and the vibes are great. I used to come here all the time. I hope the damages weren’t too great.

I recently visited topside coffee cabin and had a mixed experience. First off, the atmosphere is fantastic — a really cozy vibe with great views, making it an excellent spot to relax or get some work done. There are plenty of tables and seating, so you won’t struggle to find a place, even when it’s busy. However, my visit wasn’t perfect. My order came out wrong — both the food and the drink were mixed up. I totally get that mistakes happen, but the barista’s response was a bit off and felt a little rude. It’s understandable to be busy, but it would’ve been nice to have a more polite interaction when addressing the mix-up. On the positive side, the food was surprisingly good, definitely a highlight of the visit! The coffee, though, was just okay — nothing special but not bad either. The cashier was super friendly, which helped balance out the experience. Overall, I’d say it was a good visit, but the wrong order and the attitude from the barista left a bit of a sour taste. Still, I'd probably give it another shot!

Cozy little coffee place with outdoor seating and lots of indoor seating as well. Ordered their coffee(love the mocha), strawberry banana smoothie, breakfast burrito(chorizo) and egg/sausage sandwich. They also have a veggie burrito for those that don’t eat meat. All were delicious! This is my fifth time here and they never disappoint. Sometimes there’s a wait because it’s pretty popular, but well worth it and right next to a small park within walking distance if you’d like a nice view of the water.

Coffee was ok. Pastries were delicious. Plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. Payment requires a physical card or cash. Parking was difficult to find. There is a small parking garage located in the back with a few spaces. Beautiful view outside. Has restrooms available.

I went here because they are the only one open a round the area. I love how they make sure everything is fine with you. The price is reasonable for me considering you have a nice view. I love the fish ans chips and clam chowder. I love that the owner makes sure your doing okay. I love the ambiance of the place and the food was fantastic.
