Golden Steamer

Crema's Take
“Golden Steamer is a beloved Hong Kong-style bakery where fluffy steamed buns and traditional dim sum classics are the real stars, though quality can be inconsistent—you might get a perfectly pillowy char siu bao one visit and encounter quality control issues the next. It's the quintessential quick grab-and-go spot for those craving authentic HK pastries and rice dishes, with a devoted following despite its spotty execution, making it feel like a neighborhood institution where passionate regulars overlook occasional mishaps because when it's good, it's really good.”

My bbq roast pork bun had so little meat, I ate 3/4 of it before getting one tiny bite with the meat. I also found hair inside my dumpling. Their buns are fluffy and delicious and dumplings are seasoned good. The food tastes good I just wish they didn’t skimp as much.
There are egg shells in the meat floss cake roll. The egg shells damaged my teeth. Please do your job more carefully. I don’t want to crack my teeth.
Golden Steamer is a grab-and-go bakery that offers items like fresh buns, hot rice dishes, and frozen goods. They have locations in both Sunset Park and Chinatown. I love their steamed rice dishes for only $3.50 each! They have a variety of options - we got the steamed spare ribs over rice, and their chicken with mushroom over rice, $7 total. The meats are tender, the trays are steaming hot, and the food ready to be eaten - just ask for one of the dishes behind the counter. Another highlight of Golden Steamer are their baked roast pork buns - you can get eight in a box for $5.50. They’re soft and fluffy, and you can eat them any time of the day
THE place for classic HK buns & other snacks. The fact that it's rated a 3.9 is a travesty. Y'all are the worst for giving 1 star cause you got something dumb to nick-pick about. Yes, the old ladies have attitudes, but when I'm spending $8 for 6 pastries, IDGAF. Have a laugh about it, and enjoy the food. These people aren't paid enough to tickle your taint.
I LOVE roast pork buns. So, I would give it 5 stars if it wasn't for the fact that it was a steamed pork bun (not my favorite way to eat them) but with that being said, for a steamed pork bun, it was very good.
