Omarcitos Latin Cafe
3801 W Fullerton Ave, Chicago, IL
Crema's Take
“Omarcitos is a beloved neighborhood gem where the coffee is just the beginning—this is really about the warmth of the owner who makes every visitor feel like an old friend the moment you walk in. The carefully crafted traditional Latin drinks pair beautifully with authentic food like ropa viejo and chicken soup, making it the kind of place people drive across town for and immediately add to their regular rotation.”

Amazing place, must try. Came highly recommended from a friend. Worth a drive to try. Got the Ropa Viejo jibirito and the chicken soup. Garlic Rice was spectacular. Omar has an amazing energy and takes great pride in his business. Try something adventurous and you won’t be disappointed. Try something familiar and he will execute it perfectly.
What’s not to love about OMARCITOS!? Food was delicious, Hospitality is unmatched. He makes you feel at home and like an immediate best friend. I’ve been wanting to come here since summer and asked my hubby to bring me for Valentine’s Day! El coco cafe con leche was 10/10, I’m still sippin on it as I write this. You can tatas the love in the food and what they do. I can’t wait to go back again.
Wow, the food is excellent. I can’t wait to come back.. I traveled pretty far but it was well worth it.. thanks so much for your hospitality Good people.. I’ll see you again soon
Great neighborhood gem of a place. This place was on our list for a while, and oh it did not disappoint. From the food to the amazing service you get at the walk up window. Little places like this are what make neighborhoods shine. The owner was at the window taking the orders, he has a very inviting personality and contagious smile. It was cold outside, but the cafe con leche and the smile makes you feel warm, cozy and welcomed. It’s a little out of the way for me but, I’ll probably try and make out there once a month. We had two Jibarito sandwiches. One was the chicken jibarito and the other was the pork Jibarito. Portion sizes are generous. Both sandwiches were very flavorful, they even seasoned the plantain part of the sandwich. We had a side of rice and a side of beef also very generous portions. Ropa vieja empanada was amazing. Crunchy exterior and hot and flavorful on the inside. In my opinion it’s places like this, that give Chicago bragging rights when it comes to its food scene.
Omarcitos is an absolute gem! Omar’s energy is unmatched — he makes you feel like family the moment you walk in. We called about 15 minutes before closing to let him know we’d be arriving late, and he warmly assured us that everything would still be available except the fish. When we arrived, the place was lively and full of good vibes. The food was incredible — so flavorful and fresh! Even though they had run out of rice, Omar made it right by doubling up on beans and plantains, and he even brought us dessert to try. What a sweetheart! You can tell he’s the heart and soul of this place. We’ll definitely be coming back!
