Broken Yolk Cafe

Crema's Take
“This beloved Irvine breakfast spot wins hearts with genuinely attentive service (reviewers specifically praise standout servers like Alicia) and a bright, roomy atmosphere that feels both welcoming and lively. Beyond solid espresso drinks like their messy iced caramel lattes, they're known for creative breakfast comfort food—think elevated pancakes, French toast with a twist, and standout savory dishes like chicken fried steak and chilaquiles that pack real flavor. Fair warning: arrive early to snag a seat without a wait, as this independent cafe has earned its reputation as an Irvine breakfast destination.”

Warm welcome, quick seating, AMAZINGLY attentive and engaged server - Thank you Alicia! Good came out quick and hot. Monte Cristo is bomb and so is the messy iced Carmel latte.
Chicken fried steak was amazing, chilaquiles were delicious but be careful with sauces because they are hot.. mimosa flight hit good but Bloody Mary flight was not great because they use wine instead of vodka.. service was excellent .. the most perfectly cooked hash browns ever
Get in early if you want to seat without a weight as this place is extremely popular. The popularity may in part be due to the favor that there aren't many alternate places to eat breakfast in Irvine. My biggest complaint is that the photo image of the food on the menu really does not match what you get on your plate. They needed to put a lot more salmon on this toast. Service was very friendly although a bit slow because it was very crowded.
Very nice servers and waitstaff. The portions are good sized as well as taste. The area is bright, roomy and cheery. Good Irvine location. Parking can be a bit tricky during busy times. Interesting food bar area if you like that. The rancho skillet was good, but a bit too seasoned for me. The mom's omelet was good with the fresh blueberry muffins.
We really enjoyed eating here for breakfast comfort food, from pancakes to French toast to biscuits, all with a twist to step it up a notch. Our lattes were quite tasty. The servers were super nice. The prices were a bit more than traditional breakfast at, say, a diner, but we thought that it was worth it and would eat here again.
