Crema's Take
“Axolotl Café brings Milwaukee a vibrant blend of exceptional coffee and authentic Mexican breakfast that feels genuinely soulful despite its newness. The team clearly puts care into every detail—from pulling incredible lattes to moving guests through a busy room with warmth and attentiveness—creating a space that's just as welcoming for families lingering over chilaquiles as it is for coffee enthusiasts seeking something special.”

What a cool place! Mexican breakfast - need I say more? Delicious, unique food. Clean and family-friendly atmosphere. Attentive and friendly service. Would give more stars if I could! We were there first thing on a Friday morning and had no wait at all, but I hear weekends are very busy. Owners must be doing things right!
The food was delicious, and the vibe was incredible. Even though it has not been open very long, the restaurant feels like it has a loving soul. Everyone was very friendly, and I was glad to see that most of the seats were full even on a weekday. Looking forward to going back and already have ideas of what we’ll order next!
Everything was amazing! The food was delicious, and the latte was incredible. When we arrived, we were added to the waitlist and informed that the entire party must be present to be seated. The wait wasn’t too long. The service was outstanding, and the staff was incredibly friendly. We can’t wait to come back!
This place is so cute! The staff is attentive and so kind. The food was so yummy and even though iy was busy, our food came out fast!
Since it's a newer spot I've been hearing a lot of buzz about, I wanted to make sure we got there early to avoid a wait. We showed up shortly after they opened on a Sunday, and there were only a few other people, so we were seated right away. There is a good amount of seating inside, but I can see it filling up quick. Cute decor with nod to the axolotl. Everything on the menu sounded great it was hard to decide, we ended up getting the Breakfast Tacos, short stack of the Horchata Pancakes, and the Axo Burrito. The tacos were mad with homemade tortillas and all the ingredients tasted fresh and homemade. The horchata pancakes were delicious and made with their homemade rumchatta. Cant wait to try more on the menu! Overall, it was delicious and service was quick and friendly, we are definitely planning on being back!
