Crema's Take
“This is the Brooklyn outpost of Sump Coffee, a roastery that's earned a devoted following for its expertly sourced natural single origins and meticulous craft. The space strikes that rare balance of being serious about coffee—with top-tier equipment like a Slayer espresso machine—while staying welcoming and unpretentious, with creative drinks like sticky toffee lattes and miso caramels that go beyond the usual menu. It's become a neighborhood favorite precisely because it doesn't feel precious: just excellent coffee, knowledgeable baristas, and a chill vibe that makes it perfect for lingering.”

I’ve followed Sump Coffee around the country whenever I get the chance. The owner is truly at the top of the game, and that level of excellence shows in every detail. Sump Coffee has long been regarded as one of the best roasters in the country for the past 15 years, and it shows in every cup. If you care about great espresso, this is the spot! Luck you in NY!
Best coffee in Williamsburg - probably best I’ve experienced in my 12 years of living in the neighborhood - with very nice owner. Definitely a must try if you are looking for coffee in the neighborhood. Pour overs have extremely unique flavor notes and are delicious
High quality coffee and matcha, cute seating area, and friendly baristas. Next time I’ll try the sticky toffee latte or miso caramel!
This is exactly what Williamsburg (and NYC) needs: Unique natural single origins, top-quality machines (incl. a cute Slayer), chill space, nice people, and not ridiculously expensive. GO!
South Williamsburg, this should be your new go to spot for coffee! I’m a long time fan of Sump, so finding out they have a location in Brooklyn now is truly exciting. Their coffee is expertly roasted, and my drink was perfectly made. Price point is very standard for this area, but the quality exceeds nearly every other cafe. They have some super creative specialty flavors (miso caramel or black sesame strawberry for example), but if you’re more of a coffee purist you can indulge yourself with a pour over, something you don’t see in many nyc cafes anymore. Truly, Sump is a hidden gem for this neighborhood, you really don’t want to sleep on this one. Bonus points because the owners/staff are incredibly kind and lovely. It’s such a treat to receive a great cup of coffee from someone who enjoys their craft and is a friendly face. I can’t wait to add this shop to my rotation.
