Thunder Road Cafe

Crema's Take

Thunder Road Cafe captures that nostalgic Route 66 gas station aesthetic in the heart of West Hollywood, complete with a sprawling back patio that's perfect for lingering over a laptop or catching up with friends. Their cold brew hits hard, the pastries are genuinely delicious, and the staff—including owner Matt—make you feel genuinely welcomed rather than like you're occupying table space. With beer and wine on the menu and a late closing time, it's that rare neighborhood spot that works equally well for a quick caffeine fix or a long, comfortable afternoon.

Thunder Road Cafe definitely conjures up what a Route 66 gas station would feel like in Southern California. Wonderful decor, atmosphere, and vibes. Great service as well - staff was friendly and orders were timely. Well worth the visit.

Great neighborhood cafe! Would love to bring my laptop and work here- so much seating and who knew they had an expansive back patio?! They also serve beer and wine. I got a cold brew to-go and it was delicious!

Thunder Road Cafe is super clean, chill, and has a great vibe, perfect if you’re looking to bring your laptop and get some work done. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly, making the whole experience even better. I had the Suave breakfast burrito (no bacon) and it was delicious, fresh ingredients, full of flavor. Their coffee is top-notch too. The backyard dining area is a hidden gem, perfect for relaxing, and there’s plenty of parking in the back which is a huge plus in WeHo. This spot’s definitely a new favorite!

I don’t usually write reviews, but I have to when: - a place is beautifully designed - it’s a coffee shop that’s open late (they close at 7 p.m. right now) - they have beer and wine - service is great - coffee is phenomenal They have cozy indoor seating and patio seating as well. I didn’t try the savory food, but I will next time. They had breakfast foods like burritos when I went. So glad to have such a vibrant third space in the neighborhood.

This is the coffee shop to be at!!! The vibe is relaxing, warm, and comfortable. The service was great. The pastries were delicious. The drinks were top-notch. One of the owners, Matt, even came and sat with us and told us the story of how the shop came to be. Super cool guy. My family and I had a great time. We ordered a cold matcha latte, hot chocolate, Americana, and various pastries. All delicious, all fresh. They are even connected to the motorcycle shop next door. You can go and tour their shop floor and check out all the vintage bikes.
