I had the pleasure of visiting Antilles Café with two friends, and it was easy to find. I really enjoyed the vibrant Caribbean atmosphere that represents both Haitian and Dominican cultures. The food was flavorful and delicious, and the drinks were especially good. With that being said, there are a few areas that could use improvement, and here are the reasons why I am giving 3 stars. After leaving, the smell of grease lingered on my clothes, which was a bit uncomfortable. Additionally, the person preparing the food was neither Haitian nor Dominican and did not speak Spanish or Haitian Creole, which slightly took away from the cultural experience. The wait time was also quite long, as one person handled everything—cooking, serving, and cashiering. While understandable, it did affect the overall experience. Considering the prices, the portion sizes felt a bit small. However, I want to give credit where it’s due—the gentleman managing all these roles handled the pressure well and truly did his best, which I appreciated. As a Haitian-American, I genuinely want to keep supporting this business and seeing it grow and flourish. With some improvements, I believe it has great potential. I would love to return in the future and would especially be excited to see a location open in Queens.

My friend had been raving about the saltfish bahn mi and citronade so we pulled up and that's exactly what we had. You can tell right away when you taste food & drinks that have been thoughtfully crafted and tested before putting them on a menu. That sandwich was so well put together! The blend of spice, with the fish, the sauce...and it was absolutely giving bahn mi. That citronade, spectacular. I would prefer it less sweet next time, but it wasn't too sweet to enjoy and the sweetness didn't taste artificial. It was a unique flavor and during the hot summer months, that drink would crush. Friendly staff. Nice vibes. Solid 8.5/10

A friend and I heard about this cafe on Instagram and stopped by to check it out. We got the Tostones and the Saltfish Bahn Mi. Both were great but the Bahn Mi stole the show. The combination of Caribbean and Vietnamese flavors was amazing. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. Everything was reasonably priced and the music being played fit the vibe of the cafe so well. If I'm ever in the area, I will be back here again.

Walking into the shop I felt at home. Comfortable … is an understatement. Chef Erick greeted me with a measure of familiarity that left me feeling as though we’d known each other for forever. And, to say the least, his mastery of drinking making and presenting left me wanting to taste everything, if for nothing more than to see his artistry!!! Blessed and appreciative.
