Crema's Take

This family-owned San Jose gem, run by husband-and-wife owners alongside the owner's sister, celebrates Black culture through both its espresso-focused menu and striking African American modern art that lines the walls. With multiple rooms spanning upstairs and outdoor seating, it's the perfect spot to linger over a perfectly-pulled Americano or experiment with their specialty drinks like banana chai and matcha lattes, though the signature sweet potato pie is what'll have you coming back. The welcoming vibe and thoughtful service make it ideal for meetings, solo work sessions, or simply soaking in the carefully curated atmosphere.

Beautiful spot, great service. Happened to meet the owner and he let us know that he owns it with his wife and his sister. It is a black owned coffee shop and they have multiple locations in California. All of the art on the walls was made by local artists and is available to buy with all proceeds going back to the artist. Can’t wait to come again.

Perfect Americano, banana chai next time maybe. Small upstairs sitting, good amount downstairs and outside below, no standing tables. Just classy urban top notch art of African American modern musicians

Tried the matcha latte here, and honestly, it was a letdown. The flavor is bland and weak, almost like they used a teaspoon of matcha for a cup full of ice and milk. The drink tastes watery and lacks that rich, earthy matcha punch you’d expect—especially for the price. Feels like they’re being too cheap with the matcha. 4 g should be minimum per cup. If you’re a real matcha lover, this one’s a pass.

I stopped by this cool coffee shop today and it completely exceeded my expectations! The coffee was so delicious; perfectly smooth and rich, and the sweet potato pie was absolutely amazing. 🥧✨ The space itself is beautiful, filled with inspiring local art and good vibes, feel-good music. You can really feel the creativity in the atmosphere. I’m always in search of the best coffee in town wherever I travel, and this spot definitely makes the list! Such a wonderful experience overall. I’ll definitely be coming back. 💛

The Hazelnut Mocha was pretty good. The White Rose Latte was good but TOO sweet. The cafe itself is really pretty. Lots of seating space inside and outside. Parking was somewhat hard to find. If you are in the area probably worth a visit.
