Butler
40 Water St, Brooklyn, NY
Crema's Take
“Butler is a beautifully designed Brooklyn café with ample seating and that coveted corner-table charm, where smooth, well-pulled espresso pairs perfectly with their standout pastries and breakfast offerings like egg empanadas and chili scones. It's the kind of place that hits the sweet spot between being serious about coffee quality and genuinely welcoming to folks who want to linger with a laptop or catch up with a friend, especially if you arrive early before the post-7:30am rush. The generous natural light and thoughtful atmosphere make it feel less like a quick caffeine stop and more like a proper neighborhood gathering spot.”

A coffee shop that deserves its high rating! We stopped by Butler to have a light snack and coffee. Ample seating. Got the corner table, super aesthetic location and even better delicacies. Tiramisu latte was the best blend of sweet and bitter, and the avocado lemon thyme cake was just phenomenal. Melts in your mouth!! Barista was very sweet.
Cute breakfast spot and very good coffee. Espresso was strong, smooth and not bitter Didn’t have the chance to eat at this spot, however breakfast options from diners looked very giod and with generous portions. Must try again for breakfast.
It was open early, which made it perfect for a morning coffee. We had an oat milk latte and a slice of cake, both were good. We arrived just before the big rush though. After 7:30 a.m., finding a seat would be difficult. Great location (We went there after watching the sunrise at the Brooklyn Bridge.)
Short Take: Great little stop if you’re just grabbing a quick coffee. Food 🍽️: Cappuccino and pistachio latte were both really good. Service 🤝: Service was solid, and the wait time was totally fine. Ambience ✨: Pretty standard setup, but the place is clean and well kept. Price–Performance ⚖️: Prices are fair for what you get. Highlight / Note 📌: Super close to the Brooklyn Bridge — perfect location. Who it’s for: Friends, family, quick lunch.
A beautiful cafe with a gorgeous view of Brooklyn Bridge and generous amounts of seating. The chai was amazing! And I really enjoyed the chili scone and my partner loved the egg empanada. A lovely spot to relax for an hour or so during a slow morning. My partner and I came here for an early lunch, but upon encountering a limited section of vegetarian options aside from a stonefruit salad or avocado toast, we settled for just getting pastries and drinks.
