Crema's Take
“This French pastry shop is a Palm Springs institution beloved for its exceptionally crafted kouign amann with that perfect balance of crispy-flaky exterior and restrained sweetness that keeps regulars coming back. The owner Helene brings genuine warmth and personality to every visit, creating an inviting atmosphere where pastries like the chocolate tongue and buttery croissants taste even better thanks to the charming, personable service. It's the kind of place that justifies a second breakfast whenever you're in town.”

My favorite pastry is the kouign amman and this place has one of the most unique versions. It's PERFECTLY crispy and flaky. The best part is that it's not overly sweet. It has just the right amount of glaze. The rest of selections are fine too if a bit on the large side. We weren't very hungry so we didn't get a second pastry. We would have it they were a little more bite sized
We are visiting from out of state but have been in Palm Springs before. My partner was ready for second breakfast so I googled and found this spot. I had a kouign-amann and a tea but I can’t remember the name of what my partner had (he said it in French but I tried a bite and it was good). I had read the reviews (even the negatives) and I can see how the owner could be perceived as being rude but being a busy shop, I think that she’s just trying to keep the line moving because she was just fine with us. I’m kind of glad that I don’t live here because I would make this place a daily stop!
This place is a must stop whenever in Palm Springs. My local favorite pastry spot. Everything here is delicious. Enjoy now, diet later.
I absolutely love this French pastry shop. I go at least once or twice every time I am in town. The owner, Helene, is so charming and personable. She gives me a chance to practice my French while ordering the best pastries in Palm Springs. If you can, bring cash. It is so much better for them but if not then buy more just to compensate. :) On a personal note Helene, I absolutely love your responses to the one star review Karens of this world and am embarrassed by the things they said to you. Americans can be horrible and maybe even more so these days. Please keep doing what you do and do not pay them any attention. Merci pour votre passion et votre savoir-faire. À très bientôt.
Friendly hosts/owners. I arrived soon after the place opened and there is already a short line. The Chocolate Tongue is quite good and unique. The croissants and pain au chocolat were very good (albeit a bit dry). It’s a treat to grab pastries from this place.
