Cafe Maji
12232 Artesia Blvd, Artesia, CA
Crema's Take
“Cafe Maji is a late-night haven in Artesia where students and coffee lovers linger comfortably over creative drinks like their standout banana vanilla mocha and inventive cold brews. The spacious, calming atmosphere with plenty of seating makes it equally suited for focused studying or casual hangouts, and their generous approach to customer service—like swapping drinks when something isn't quite right—shows real care beyond the counter. Their homemade pastries, particularly the tiramisu, pair perfectly with specialty sips that taste as good hot as they do iced.”

This place is very nice for late studying since they close later than most coffee shops. The photos need updating because the place did NOT look like the photos whatsoever. You can very much tell students love coming here due to the more quite atmosphere with many outlets, as well as spacious place. To a result, students stay here for many hours. However, I don't intend to come here again. For the interior of the cafe, it has very clean bathrooms and plenty of tables and chairs. All the tables near the wall had many outlets, which is hard to find in coffee shops. Wifi is ok, sometimes it stops working which can be a little annoying at times. There is NO AC, which makes it more hotter and humid inside. I would recommend coming here only during the winter. For the summer, I can not even imagine how that would be. The menu is quite overwhelming and confusing, so it makes it intensely difficult to order. On top of that, drinks are outrageously expensive. While I love supporting small businesses and finding places to study, the drinks were NOT THAT GOOD to be that expensive. For the most part, I was paying for my time being spent at the cafe, as well as the seat I was occupying. The cafe did not have THE cafe vibe you long for when studying. There was foldable chairs at most tables, as well as regular wooden ones. Yes they are somewhat comfortable, but they did not exert the type of feel you get at coffee shops. The owner was friendly when I came in but, it definitely feels like a one man operation since drinks did take a little longer to make, which I don't mind. If you love supporting small businesses and finding quite places to study, this is the place for you. The atmosphere is peaceful and delightful to get work done. There was even a little sign outside that said Good luck to everyone on exams, which was so cute. This place is very much intended for high school and college students to do assignments. I just would not come back since the menu isn't THAT good to come back again.
Came w my sibling who goes to school nearby and found the atmosphere to be really calming! There's plenty of tables and places to sit and study or just chill w your friends. The tiramasu I got was super delicious and sweet and my strawberry Nutella shake was to die for. The owner even thru in a free set of cream puffs just because I mentioned that I liked them when talking to my sibling! Super nice place and highly recommend to anyone that's in the area.
Stumbled upon this place by accident, and I really enjoyed my time here. The banana vanilla mocha is super delicious whether hot or iced (I prefer hot) and the food is really good. The owner is super sweet and puts a lot of care into the lattes. I got to practice my Korean with him and he was very nice about it. I really recommend this place :) They like to rotate their menu every now and then to switch up the drinks! I really recommend their lemon cake as well! The tiramisu is good as well, but I would share it with about 3 people as the sweetness can be a little much for one or two people! 정말 감사합니다!
Awesome customer service! I didn’t like my first drink and I asked if they could add more syrup since I couldn’t taste the toffee but they didn’t have anymore so they offered me a different drink instead. The second drink was definitely more flavorful. They bring the drinks and food to your table, which I am not used when it comes to coffee shops so that’s definitely a nice touch. Beware, the bathroom towel dispenser is a little loud. Not sure if that’s fixed or not but it sounded like someone was screaming 🤣. I found it funny personally so that’s doesn’t affect my rating but if you’re sensitive to loud sounds - it might be overwhelming. If I’m not mistaken - the back of the receipt has the wifi info so you don’t need to ask about it. I didn’t test it out though so I could be mistaken.
Was looking for a coffee shop that was opened late and found this place. Was a little skeptical because it was described as a place to go study and well I just wanted coffee and a dessert. I was surprised how comfy this place was. Yes people where there doing "laptop work" but there were also people just having coffee and a bite to eat. I got the tiramisu matcha mocha latte and it was good. My husband got the cookie butter iced latte and he also liked it. I also ordered a slice of red velvet cake and was pleasantly surprised at how big the "slice" was. The man that served us also brought us some complimentary creme puffs and my husband was enamored by them, they didn't stand a chance. The service was phenomenal and the ambiance was great. Can't wait to be back.
