Crema's Take
“Ex Libris is a student-run café that trades sterile precision for genuine warmth, drawing regulars who appreciate baristas with personality as much as solid espresso. Skip the matcha here and stick to their cold brew and signature drinks like the iced white chocolate mocha with honey and cinnamon—the kind of place where you're equally likely to camp out with a laptop or linger over conversation with friends who work the counter.”
What to expect
Espresso-focused, good cold brew. A slow-sit, laptop-friendly, quick-grab spot, good for meetings. Pastries and light food on the menu.

See all on Google →Never order the matcha latte. It’s watery and lack the death of latte. It seems the servant is not focusing and forgot to add milk and stirring. It’s really a disappointed experience.
I love this little shop with all my little heart! Great environment ! Totally not surgical and sterile more like warm and fuzzy
good coffee and great service. Love the baristas at this student-run cafe. Shout out Kennedy!!! Get an iced white chocolate mocha with honey and cinnamon.
I only ordered americano coffee and the quality was ok, but the price is cheap similar to other coffee shops at UChicago. But they also sell sandwiches and sweet treats.
The coffee shop is really nice and has a good selection. The staff are pretty friendly and helpful, but they can also be a bit sassy if you know them personally. It's a bit expensive, but the quality is good and the atmosphere is pretty nice.
