Crema's Take
“Buna Lit Cafe is a cozy neighborhood gem that doubles as both a serious espresso destination and a gathering spot for African cuisine enthusiasts, with regulars praising the coffee as genuinely excellent and distinctly better than chain alternatives. The vibe here is authentically chill and welcoming—perfect for settling in with a laptop, catching up with friends, or letting the staff surprise you with a life-changing tea recommendation, all while the space radiates genuine comfort rather than corporate sterility. Beyond coffee, their African food offerings like oxtails and seafood rasta pasta have earned devoted repeat customers, making this the kind of place that rewards curiosity and keeps people coming back daily.”

Got there at 10pm and was told most of the menu items had been sold out. So I thought I picked something that was fully available, but when the server brought the food out, I noted how half the meal was missing, and she told me the menu isn’t completely accurate that’s why she didn’t want to give it to me in the first place. I paid for a meal and I didn't get everything that it said it came with. And the response was "well I told you the menu isn't completely accurate..” I tried to be understanding because it seemed like she was the only employee there doing just about everything, but the service was just not good and made me feel like I was being difficult. At some point the server did offer an alternative, but only after I complained. On a positive note, I liked the hookah. And the music selection was good. Also, the map says they close at 2am, but they actually closed up at midnight. Not sure if I’ll return.
This is a very chill spot with some good African food. My first time here I got their oxtails & they were soo good! My second time, I got the Seafood Rasta Pasta and it did not disappoint! Their food has the perfect level of spice and large portions. The food is also made as you order so there may be a wait, but you can grab a hookah and a latte while you wait.
Found this gem of a place on a recent visit to the area. Also found NEW hookah flavor mixes that I never thought about. The place is very cozy and comfy, and the Hookahs are always hitting. A few work from home folks come in too to escape the boredom in their home. Had an opportunity to also have some breakfast, and they had several choices, so I tried a few. All were delicious, especially the avocado toast. Do yourself a huge favor and try them out for a very relaxed and affordable joy of a time.
This is a must try if you’re looking for a nice cafe vibe during the day. I stopped by just curious because I was in the shopping area and the guy made me an amazing tea. He said it would be life changing and indeed it is. Def will be coming back for more and to try there other stuff.
I needed a chilled spot to sit and do some work and Buna served that purpose. The coffee is top notch way way way better than Starbucks . I stop there daily now for my daily fix of caffeine. The customer service is so amazing , they make you feel like you are their only customer , so friendly welcoming and accommodating. Oouuuu and the food is finger licking gooooooooooooood I kid you not.
